For my personal style, I straighten my hair. But it's hard to keep it perfect because I sweat a lot! And I'm not overweight, actually I'm underweight and it's so annoying when I have to walk a normal lenght distance with my friends and I end up completely sweaty... I've tried strong desodorants, small clothes and pony tails to avoid heat but I still can't get rid of this problem. Help please.
Why do I sweat this much and how do I stop it?
You have between 2 million and 5 million eccrine sweat glands. When your body temperature rises, your autonomic nervous system stimulates these glands to secrete fluid onto the surface of your skin, where it cools your body as it evaporates. This fluid (perspiration) is composed mainly of water and salt (sodium chloride) and contains trace amounts of other electrolytes 鈥?substances that help regulate the balance of fluids in your body 鈥?as well as substances such as urea.
Apocrine glands, on the other hand, secrete a fatty sweat directly into the tubule of the gland. When you're under emotional stress, the wall of the tubule contracts and the sweat is pushed to the surface of your skin where bacteria begin breaking it down. Most often, it's the bacterial breakdown of apocrine sweat that causes an odor.
A number of factors can affect how much you sweat as well as your sweat's smell. Certain foods, drugs or medical conditions can cause excessive sweating, whereas drugs or conditions may interfere with your ability to perspire normally.
-Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)
Some people sweat more than others for no apparent reason. But some factors may make you sweat heavily. These include:
-Heredity. Some people inherit a tendency to sweat excessively, especially on their palms and the soles of their feet.
Certain foods and beverages. Drinking hot beverages and those that contain caffeine or alcohol can make you sweat. Eating spicy foods can, too.
-Certain drugs. Drugs that can cause excessive sweating include some antipsychotic medications used to treat mental disorders, morphine and excess doses of the thyroid hormone thyroxine. Analgesics, such as aspirin and acetaminophen (Tylenol), also increase sweating.
-Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). This occurs when the level of sugar in your blood drops below a certain level. It's most common in people with diabetes who take insulin or oral medications that enhance the action of insulin. Early signs and symptoms include sweating, shakiness, weakness, hunger, dizziness and nausea. Some people may develop low blood sugar after eating, especially if they've had stomach or intestinal surgery. In rare cases, your body may produce too much of the pancreatic hormone insulin, leading to low blood sugar.
-Fevers. Fever occurs when your temperature rises above its normal range. You may have a fever with many types of bacterial and viral infections. When your body temperature finally begins to return to normal, known as "breaking of the fever," you may sweat profusely, which is your body's way of dissipating the excess heat. Shaking chills after the fever are your body's attempt to raise its core temperature. Repeated episodes of fever followed by sweating and chills may indicate a serious infection or other illness.
-Overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism). Sometimes the thyroid gland produces excess amounts of the hormone thyroxine. This can cause a number of signs and symptoms, including weight loss, a rapid or irregular heartbeat, nervousness and increased sensitivity to heat. It may also cause you to perspire much more than normal.
-Heart attack. This occurs when a loss of blood supply damages or destroys part of your heart muscle. The signs and symptoms of a heart attack include pressure; fullness or squeezing pain in your chest that lasts for a few minutes or pain that extends beyond your chest to your shoulder, arm or back; shortness of breath; and intense sweating. If you experience these symptoms, get immediate medical care. Every minute counts during a heart attack.
-The other reasons are malaria, leukemia, menopause, etc which I don't think it is.
Not to freak you out but I think if it's really becoming a problem and you can't live your daily life because sweating so much is embarrassing you, definitely see a doctor. I think it's probably a thyroid problem or diet problem rather than anything else, but only a doctor can really figure out what the problem is, or if there is a problem.

Sneakers+Pond Water+Sweat = Gross. Help.?
I worked at a garden center all summer and my sneakers got drenched in pond water and sweat every day. Now they are disgusting. I would just buy a new pair, but I'm in college and don't have the money. What can I do to make them smell better??? I already tried washing them and they still smell the same.
Sneakers+Pond Water+Sweat = Gross. Help.?
Eww. Come on, you can't be serious. Go to Wal-Mart and get yourself a pair of ultra-cheapy shoes that will last you till you get paid. Better to wear cheap than smelly.
Sneakers+Pond Water+Sweat = Gross. Help.?
use color safe bleach and make sure you permeate the insides, and mesh, ect (any fabric). This should remove any kind of odor, if this doesn't work try using "orangefast" which is a mechanic hand soup you can pick up at NAPA or any auto part store. This stuff removes grease and oil from clothing so it should remove any kind of protein which is not disolvable directly in water.
Reply:I don't think that's gonna come out, but try using Oxi Clean.
Reply:You can also try stuffing them with newspaper every night. The newspaper absorbs the odor. And, try sprinkling the insides with baking soda, too. If it works in the fridge, it should work in your shoes, too.
Hope this helps.
Reply:i sympathize with your financial dilemma, but i say, throw them out! get new ones!
they smell nasty, which cannot be good for your social life, and they will give you foot fungus!
Reply:Throw them in the washing machine with same bleach. Dry them in the sun. Fill a stocking for each shoe with cat litter and leave in until the smell is gone.

My right eyebrow sweats/leaks fluid sometimes for a couple of minutes and sometimes up to an hour...why?
i've done a search online and I saw two people say that their eyebrow "sweats" when they're cold...I'm not always cold when mine does it. Thanks in Advance!
My right eyebrow sweats/leaks fluid sometimes for a couple of minutes and sometimes up to an hour...why?
Have you ever had an eyebrow piercing? Could it be an infection maybe or no? Please add yes or no as an extra detail in your question so I can better answer. (I'm just trying to narrow down possibilities.)

Why other people sweat on their underarms and didnt get any bad smell?
i had a problem with my underarm, that sweat minimally and stinks, i had an underarm hyperhidrosis but controlled by driclor, is it hereditary or skin infection? (the underarm odor)
i had this problem since my 1st year highschool 11 or 12 yrs old.
Why other people sweat on their underarms and didnt get any bad smell?
Well, Actually the smell your smelling is your sweat mixing with bacteria under your arms. Try to not eat food with potent odors such as garlic...etc. But, it can be hereditary. Some people aren't cursed with this stench (unlike me and you) but their ancestors must have came from a place where they didn't need to sweat that much. Hope this helped you!
Why other people sweat on their underarms and didnt get any bad smell?
Use Proactiv. 100% effective. Get the whole kit and use it as if you would use it on your face. Afterwards, use deodorant as well. I am serious Report It
Reply:It depends on your diet. I would suggest a stronger deodorant and start using Baby Powder.
Reply:I think it is somewhat hereditary and also it seems that the cause of the sweat tends to play an important role. If it is from anxiety it tends to have a much greater odor than if it is from exertion. I have found that using a gel extra dry deodorant is very effective.
Reply:I have hyperhisrosis also, but no smell, I wear 2 types of deodorant, Mitchoum, which dries it up pretty good and then one that has a fresh scent, and it usually works pretty good. I dont think its hereditary b/c know one in my family has it, but to me, when your worried about it it gets worse and hard to control, I have it on my palms also and thats really tuff to control, I've just learned to live with it, cant afford to have my sweat glands removed just yet.
Reply:First of all, brush up on your grammar, it makes the question hard to understand. and now on to your problem, underarm odor is caused not by the sweat but by outside bacteria mingling with your sweat turning the bodily oils in your sweat rancid making them smell and attracting even more bacteria,,,,,, have you tried bathing daily or not wearing the same clothes twice? if yes and if that doesn't help maybe you have overactive sweat glands and medication is actually the only way to go,,,, sorry
Reply:That underarm smell is primarily cause by bacteria dwelling in your skin. Your diet also affects your body odor, food such as garlic increase the strength of these body odors.
Reply:I tell ya, I swear by ZINC!!! I used to shower and still feel yukky. No deodorant seem to help. Then I read in a Vitamin book about Zinc. It works, I swear. It's also great for clearing up pimples. And you ladies with sore boobies during "that time", use Vitamin E. Your boobies will be touchable, painfree, and you can sleep on your stomach!!!!!
Reply:probably because thhe sweat gland is not working properly, which then results in no smell.

Science homework about sweat glands please help me?
There are two kinds of sweat glands, and they differ greatly in both the composition of the sweat and its purpose:
Eccrine sweat glands are distributed over the entire body surface, but are particularly abundant on the palms of hands, soles of feet, and on the forehead. These produce sweat that is composed chiefly of water with various salts. These glands are used for body temperature regulation.
Apocrine sweat glands produce sweat that contains fatty materials. These glands are mainly present in the armpits and around the genital area and their activity is the main cause of sweat odor, due to the bacteria that break down the organic compounds in the sweat from these glands.
In your case, it would be refering to Eccrine sweat glands.
Eccrine sweat glands are distributed over the entire body surface, but are particularly abundant on the palms of hands, soles of feet, and on the forehead. These produce sweat that is composed chiefly of water with various salts. These glands are used for body temperature regulation.
Eccrine sweat glands are coiled tubular glands derived from the outer layer of skin but extending into the inner layer. They are distributed over almost the entire surface of the body in humans and many other species, but are lacking in some marine and fur-bearing species. The sweat glands are controlled by sympathetic cholinergic nerves, which are controlled by a center in the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus senses core temperature directly, and also has input from temperature receptors in the skin and modifies the sweat output, along with other thermoregulatory processes.
Human eccrine sweat is composed chiefly of water with various salts and organic compounds in solution. It contains minute amounts of fatty materials, urea, and other wastes. The concentration of sodium varies from 35鈥?5 mmol/l, and is lower in people accustomed to a hot environment and in people adapted to physical exercise. The sweat of other species generally differs in composition.

What can night sweats be indicative of if I'm not menopausal?
I've been waking up at night for the past few nights drenched in sweat. So far I've tried lowering the temperature in my room, which hasn't helped. I sleep in cotton PJs (shorts and t-shirt) and have cotton sheets. Any ideas? I'm in generally good health. I don't have any other signs of TB so I don't think it is that.
What can night sweats be indicative of if I'm not menopausal?
If you are on any kind of psych meds, for depression or anxiety or whatever, many of them have this as a side effect.
What can night sweats be indicative of if I'm not menopausal?
Any other symptoms? Nights sweats are usually indicative of some low grade infection (like TB). Get a proper checkup from a doctor.
Reply:How old are you? You could be perimenopausal, which can come on as early as your 30s.
Here's a site with lots of info:

Reply:you need a TB test anyway and check up for an underlying infection which you might not know about but your body is heating up trying to fight off something. Or your metabolism might be overactive due to thyroid condition.
Reply:How do you know you are not menopausal. I started having night sweats when I was 32 or 33 anything is possible. I sleep with the air conditioner in my room on and a fan and I still get hot.
Reply:Check with your doctor and just b/c they stop don't forget to tell your doctor.
most likely it'll b a couple of days / weeks b/4 doctor can see you anyway.
make sure to have meds you've taken around this time. Also be ready with what your weight and food and liquid intake is.
Doctors (in general) will try passing the problem off on diet or food problem.
IT MIGHT SOUND STUPID BUT WRITE DOWN YOUR INS AND OUTS (DOCTOR TERMS) EATING AND CRAPPING. COLOR OF STOOLS AND COLOR OF URIN.
it might be a bug your body is fighting.
Reply:As always, you should check with your Doctor first to rule out any diseases that you may have.
Peri-menopause is something you can experience at a very early age. I started getting hot flashes and night sweats in my 30's, they would come and go, and by the time I was in my early 40's they were out of control. I used to tell people my thermostat was broken, and I suffered sleepless nights for 2 years.
Than a friend introduced me to Himilayan Goji Juice. It is the only functional juice on the market with medical validation including 34 scientifically proven benefits as well as 72 clinical studies published on pubmed.org.
I took it for less than a week, 2 oz in the morning and 2 oz at night and the night sweats disappeared! I have had deep restful sleeps, and no more headaches or heartburn!!
I just shared it with a lady in the US who also has completely eliminated her night sweats and it took her about a week as well. This product is an adaptogen which goes to work on auto-immune deficiencies and is helping people everywhere!

I don't sweat when I exercise.?
Okay, that is a slight exxageration. I sweat, but it's not nearly as much as other people go through when they do exersise of the same difficulty. Instead, my skin gets amazingly greasy, as if I haven't showered in days, even if I had showered five minutes beforehand. Anyone know why this happens?
I don't sweat when I exercise.?
People that do not sweat do not have enough water in their diet. remember, we all need 8-12 8oz glasses of water every day, as adults. You are probably suffering from dehydration, and should be very careful because it has serious effects. Talk to your doctor about it. OH!!! And drinking juice or tea is not enough, you need ACTUAL water....
I don't sweat when I exercise.?
You probably need more salt. Gatorade is high in sodium, I suggest you drink some.
Reply:Drink more water. But work out harder.
Reply:I have heard that when a person is working out, they start sweating when they get used to the excercise. As long as you are losing weight, it doesn't matter.
Reply:same thing happens wtih me, and its one of two things: either you dont sweat easily, or, you could be very dehydrated. Sometimes its a combination of both. sometimes also the type of excersise (ex. i sweat more when running or biking than when benching or lifting wieghts). drink plenty of liquids, thats probably part of it.
Reply:Some people just naturally sweat more than others. My husband can work up a sweat tying his shoe laces, but my mother will pass out before she starts sweating. I'm more like you--it's more like a thin film than an all-out sweat.
Reply:People all sweat at different rates so you can't really compare yourself to others. Sweating is the bodies way of lowering it's temperature when it gets too hot. Working out increases your body temperature therefor you sweat. Your bodies core temperature may be lower than others so may be able to work out harder before you have to sweat as much to lower your temp to a safe level.
Medications can also effect sweating. If you are on any medications, check their side effects to make sure that is not one of them.
You should be fine when working out, just make sure that you are not starting to feel light headed, and if you do stop right away. If you are still concerned you can do a simple experiment of taking your temperature before and after working out to make sure that you temperature is still normal.
Reply:this happens when u are not in shape. well there is some fat people who sweat a lot by doing anything, but if u are a normal person and u started excercicing, or are not in a great shape yet, well that is the problem, because ur body is not used to it yet, because sweating is like a cooling down process and if ur body is not used to it, then that is why
Reply:i don't know but if you want to sweat like other people then run before you work-out that will help you to sweat i'm talking about running in place for about 5 min.
Reply:well its either that your not working out hard enough or your not drinking enough water...the more water you drink the more you sweat..drink alot of water

How come i sweat so easily?
something simple as sitting at the computer will make me sweat like CRAZY! does anyone know why this is? and how to prevent or fix this? any advice appreciated. please be decent and truthful.
How come i sweat so easily?
Excessive sweating is usually due to anxiety. So control your nerves. Also check your thyroid functions.
How come i sweat so easily?
Everyone is different....I sweat like crazy every summer. I always get sweaty armpits. Everyone said I'd grow out of it, i'm 21 and it's been a few years! just get some good deoderant and get used 2 it
Reply:You might have really high blood pressure.Go to your doctor and have them run some tests.
Reply:ive read that by putting deoderant on before you go to bed (so it has time to absorb) and then putting on more in the morning would help you throughout the day. I dont sweat like crazy but i do sweat alot, and what i do is i bring my deoderant with me and put it on whenever i think im starting to sweat.
If you think u sweat abnormally then go see a doctor because theres needles that they can give you to help u with sweating... see a doctor!
Reply:Some people just sweat more naturally. Teens often have a problem with sweating. My daughter was prescribed a cream with I think aluminum something in it. A cream for this does exist but I can't tell you the name for sure as she has it in Bolivia with her.
Reply:ummm. lucky you, r u thin?
i try to sweat, for me it takes a lot to break a sweat, but u need to go to the doctor the y have medicen for it if it gets to serious
Reply:I tell you to get Certain Dri. You will never sweat from your underarms. Eliminates all odor. Has no smell. Has no residue so it does not stain your clothes at all. You put it on at night. Go to sleep. Wake up and take a shower. The residue of the deoderant is gone, but you don't sweat or smell at all for a couple of days. And when I say you don't sweat or smell I mean it. I go to the gym and my shirt gets soaked except for under the arms. That is how well it works.

How to get rid of underarm sweat??
it's a reason why you sweat more at school. you are probaly nervous more active etc. sweating is HEALTHY! your body is ridding your body of impurities. look it up!

Make sweat less salty to get rid of white sweat mark?
No but you may have hyperhydrosis. Sweat marks are normal and you can get prescription strength antiperspirants. Consult your physician.

How to remove sweat stains from your hat?
Ok so i have 2 black new era hats umm DGK skate companys hat but a new era like the DC hats and its black so obviously when i skate it leaves sweat stains so how do i remove these stains with out making my hat fade?
How to remove sweat stains from your hat?
any of the oxy boosters you can buy at the local store should do the trick, just make small batch and use a brush to apply, then toss em in the dishwasher (without dishes).
They even make a plastic hat form to help keep the shape.
Also works in washing machine (but works better in d/w)
How to remove sweat stains from your hat?
wash it
Reply:The best way is to buy a new hat.
Reply:Dishsoap, just a little and some warm water with a little brush.
Reply:I used to scrub my hat with a tooth brush and some diluted laundry soap... It always worked for me.
Reply:I put the hats in the kitchen sink in COLD water. Add a small amount of laundry detergent and swish the hats around. Let them sit in the water for about 10 minutes. Rinse hats thoroughly with COLD water and set them somewhere to dry (usually overnight). They will be fresh and clean.
Reply:try putting ammonia mixed with laundry detergent on the stains, then let it sit for like 30 min. works for pit stains on shirts too

Help! I have a husband that sweats through EVERYTHING when he sleeps.?
Many times, as he usually does, the covers will get pulled from me and by the time i get them back, they are completely drenched in his sweat. It has a very sour smell to it as well and he seems to sweat every single night, yet he thinks he must have a comforter on him any time he does sleep. It's hard for me to roll over and sleep facing his side, usually when this happens I wake up because of the sour smell and it wakes me up fast.
Whenever I leave while he is sleeping he will steal my pillow because he has already soaked his. All my pillows that were once perfectly white are yellow blotted. So because of this, I sleep with no covers and no pillows. I wash them once every few days but many days I can't get around to it and just have to go the night sleeping with no pillow and no covers.
Any help?

.Okay first of all, your Hot! Now to your question. You should take him to the doctor, that is not normal. Good Luck. Also many alcoholics %26amp; drug addicts sweat heavy when they sleep. The body is trying to detox. Hope this isn't the case
with you guys.

I sweat at night too
it seems to be worse when I eat a lot of carbs in the evening before bed.
if I really limit carbs in the evening it seems to help
if I go to bed hungry, I don't sweat at all
Reply:Try putting a fan in your room, maybe it will keep him from getting hot.
Reply:Does he sweat that much during the day? Maybe he has some sort of medical condition a doctor could help him with. If not, you're keeping the bedroom too warm. Turn down the heat or raise the air conditioning, install a ceiling fan and use it at night. Take the pillow when you get up and kick it under the bed so he doesn't know you don't want him to use it. Buy extra pillows and keep them in the closet so you will have a clean one every night. Likewise keep an extra blanket in the closet for you and put it away when you get up. Good luck!
Reply:How cold do you keep your bedroom, and how heavy or insulated is the quilt on your bed? Sometimes, if our bedroom was too cold, I would cover myself with the insulated quilt to keep warm. But, then I would get too hot and start to sweat, but I couldn't take off the quilt because I knew my sweat would would make me feel freezing in the cold room.
We solved the problem by turning up the temperature at night (72 or 73 farenheit is about right) so that I don't have to wrap a quilt around me, and using a cover that is not insulated but is heavy enough to keep us warm and lets a little air pass through it. If we need a little more cover to keep us warm (like in the winter) we put a knitted afghan between the sheet and the quilt.
A good indicator for getting the right air temperature is your nose. If your nose is cold after lying in bed for 15 or 20 minutes, you might need to increase the temperature a little bit.

May be a stupid question about sweat....?
when you work out and sweat, is it possible if you dont wipe off the sweat you could gain the weight back from absorbing it back through the skin....lol someone told me this i thought it was hilarious but is it true?
May be a stupid question about sweat....?
Of course not. But I did swim last summer at the lake - I gained 25 lbs that afternoon!
Does that sound as kind of like this question?
May be a stupid question about sweat....?
nope
Reply:You don't "lose weight by sweating". You cool off by sweating. You burn fat by burning the stored energy to feed the muscles.
But gaining weight from your sweat? That's absolutely ridiculous, and entirely untrue.
Reply:nope-you can't gain weight from reabsorbing sweat. You can, however, gain from getting over-heated and retaining water, but that's because you're not releasing water (as in sweating). I have seemed to gain weight from being in the heat (like when camping or swimming), but it usually goes away quick when I'm back home for a few days and back to normal.

Oxycontin makes you sweat?
Im taking 20 mg of Oxycontin three times a day for a severe back injury and siactic nerve damage. Ive been taking it since November. The one thing I hate the most is it makes me sweat for no reason. Has anyone else had this problem or should I be looking at other causes, and not the drug.?
Oxycontin makes you sweat?
Narcotics are the oldest and safest form of pain relief available. I take Oxycontin for PCS since July 06 and it works wonders. Yes, it does make me feel warm/ flushed and sweat for no reason... I wake up at night bathed in sweat sometimes. I say the sweat is worth it since it relieves my pain.
Don't be afraid or ashamed to take these meds. If your doc precribed them and you genuinely need them, they aren't dangerous. The danger comes from people trying to take it to get high or increasing their dose without doctor supervision. Alarmists who automatically jump to how dangerous and addictive narcotics are are buying into the propaganda Opiophobics are putting out ther. Narcotics have their place. Sometimes nothing else works. They have been around for centuries, and if you genuinely need them, they are a Godsend.

all and any nacotics can and usually will make you sweat and itch!!
Reply:It didnt make me sweat but it made me vomit horribly. It I believe has strong side effects. i stopped them and asked for another pain killer. Change I suggest.
Reply:smilee, I 've taken it also for back pain and it is not the best drug to take for a prolonged amount of time. I have never had it make me sweat, but it has caused me to itch a little when I've had to take alot. There are plenty of things out there that make me sweat, vitamins-any kind of estrogen I could go on and on. Oxycontin is very dangerous darlin and it would be best if you could find something else to help you. They have a new drug now that is called Lyrica, it has very minimal side effects and as far as habit forming, it compares in no way to Oxycontin. Bad drug if used for very long. I personally would never start it again, since Lyrica has come out. I have 6-herniated disc in my back and I've had to learn to live with the pain everyday and every second of my life. I use pain killers when I get to where I can't walk at all. Oxycontin can pull you in and under before you know it's got you. Seek some other kind of treatment for your best overall treatment, and if you are looking at this right now and saying No Way-Not going to stop the Oxy-think again. I've suffered for 7-years, Oh I have the 6 in the back and 3 in the neck. I've been to every kind of Doctor known to man. They will put you on the stuff and then you get hooked and that becomes your worst problem then, not the siactic or herniated disc.Good Luck and God Bless Friend the sweats will be nothing compared to the addiction.Be Careful-Very Careful
Reply:Yes, its a noted side effect.
Reply:Sometimes, I am on this for back injury as well.
Reply:YES See a chiropractor to get rid of the pinched nerve - it may take a few visits because the mis-alignment that your body has been will mean that only about 1/2 of the adjustments will hold until things get near normal.
Much pain is from muscles below is an example of what may help (based on headaches).
Begin with a couple swigs of molasses or a couple of bananas daily - magnesium (which regulates many things in the body) and potassium (a needed building block for muscles).
Drink at least 1/2 gallons of water per day. Running a body low on water is like running a car low on oil is the analogy the head of neurology at UCDavis told my husband about 10 years ago.
Now to the cause - muscles - your back, neck shoulders and head have tender spots. They are knots in the fibers of the muscles called trigger points. It makes the muscles tight which makes them press on nerves and other things causing the pain.
The cure - start with a professional massage, you will also want to go back over any place you can get to 6-12 times per session up to 6 times per day rubbing (or lightly scratching on your head) every where that is tender until the knots go away. The place where the skull connects to the spine press up under the edge of the skull (to get to those muscles).

Why do I sweat this much and how do I stop it?

Reply:Throw them in the washing machine with same bleach. Dry them in the sun. Fill a stocking for each shoe with cat litter and leave in until the smell is gone.
Why does my sweat smell different sfter my surgery?
I had abdominal surgery and ever since my armpit sweat smells completely different than before. The surgery was 6 weeks ago.
Why does my sweat smell different sfter my surgery?
Its from the anesthesia. Depending on how much you got it could take up to a year to get out of your system. You may find that some other things go kind of funny with your body. Dont worry, it will go back to normal after a while.
Why does my sweat smell different sfter my surgery?
Maybe your body's still draining all the strange fluids you got because of the medicine...
Reply:You are probably sweating out the chemicals used during the surgery. Pops
Reply:This is do to the drugs in your system, also it can be your detoxing the antibiotics%26amp;the druds. This will make your sweat smell sour.

When my son sweats. . . ?
My son smells like maple syrup when he sweats and I don't know why. Has anyone else heard of this? His sheets smell like syrup after just one night sleeping in them, I don't know if I should bring this up to his doc or not as he's always been like this and he's now almost 6.
When my son sweats. . . ?
You should definantly let his doc know asap . There is an illness where the person smells like maple syrup. It is called maple Syrup Urine Disease. It is a Nitrogen metabolism Defect. The treatment involves removing Amino acids from the diet. I doubt that this is what makes your son smell so sweet, but it is worth bringing it up.

Can I use a sauna to "sweat out" viral bronchitis?
I have viral bronchitis and have had it for 3 weeks. My dad says I need to take some Nyquil and wrap myself up in blankets and sweat it out. I don't like doing that, he said to go to the gym and use their sauna to sweat it out. I actually like that idea better. My question is whether or not it's healthy to do that? Is it a good idea to get in a sauna having viral bronchitis? I don't want to pass out in there. Help!
Can I use a sauna to "sweat out" viral bronchitis?
Viruses take time to pass. Sweating it out is in my opinion an old wives tale. Take vitamins, drink plenty of non caffinated fluids, and honey is a natural antiviral, blueberries and cranberries are rumored to be good for your immune system as well. Using a vaporizer may help with the bronchitis, help loosen up phlem, as will mucinex. Also be sure and eat a healthy diet and get plenty of rest and Sleep..
If it doesn't get better soon go back to the doctor and make sure it isn't now a bacerial infection
Can I use a sauna to "sweat out" viral bronchitis?
It doesn't sound like a bad idea. When I had that they made me breathe on a steam machine at the doctors. It'll at least help you cough up some of the crud in your lungs.
Reply:3 weeks of a viral infection is really indicating something more is going on. Do not SWEAT IT OUT, thats just silly. Go to your Dr. asap, you could have something more than viral bronchitis. A virus is resistant to antibiotics, so its usually not needed. I think something else may be going on. Check with your Dr! Drink fluids, rest and Feel better!!!
Reply:ask your doctor!
Reply:Sauna is dry heat - I would think you want Moist heat and air to feel better. I don't think it's possible to "sweat out" a viral infection.
Try a vaporizor, or even turning on hot shower (without getting in) and close the bathroom door - sit in there for 30 mins breathing the steam.
Another thing that would help is some eucalyptus oil in the shower before running it - add a couple of drops to the floor of the shower, so the fragrance is in the moist air.
If you get a fever or if this goes on for another week - go back to the dr. It could have changed to bacterial and you'll need antibiotics to get over it.
Drink lots of juice, eat soups, increase your fluid intake and take your vitamins! Hope you feel better!!!
Reply:1st thing is you will infect everyone one else don't do it unless you are somekind of mean person. 2nd there is no such thing as sweating out a cold or virus it just makes you worse and more ill! could end up fainting and in hospitail. I think you just need to rest a bit sleep alot
"medicines called bronchodilators that are usually prescribed to treat asthma will help to open the bronchial tubes and clear out mucus." (if you have an inhaler this will help)
"Cool-mist humidifiers or steam vaporizers can be helpful for wheezing or shortness of breath. Leaning over a bathroom sink full of hot water with a towel loosely draped over the head can also be help open the airways."
plenty of fluids and REST!
Reply:You can't "sweat out" an illness. It will take time for the symptoms to go away. Not much you can do to hurry the process except maybe drink lots of fluids and rest.

Any tips on how to reduce sweat under the arms? No deodorant works.?
I tend to sweat under my arms, even if it's not hot out. I've tried Certain Dri and that didn't help, plus no deodorant I have tried works. I am very self conscious about this. Does anyone have any tips or ideas that might help with my problem? Like how to hide the sweat, any good deodorants..etc. thanks!

Secret platinum plus works for most people who sweat alot.
Go to a dermatologist, though, if it dosen't work. Sweating more then others is a skin condition, and the Dr. will be able to perscribe something to help that.
Baking soda should get rid of sweat stains on your clothes- good luck!

you can use shower to shower powder to put under your arms that will help dry sweet up and keep oder down too
Reply:Underarmor or any spandex type shirts will help hide or reduce the amount of sweat that shows.
As far as stopping it, if deordorant doesn't work, speak with your doctor about botox injections. They reduce the amount of sweat that your body produces in that area.
Reply:You may want to try an anti-persperant/deoderant. Also I read in Cosmo that putting it on at night before bed and in the morning after your shower helps. I had the same problem and putting it on at night and in the morning seemed to help alot.
Reply:YES! I have the answer. I have had the same problem my whole life. I am someone who is always nervous with anything social, even going to the grocery store. I always had sweat marks under my arms even in the winter. I couldn'd wear the cute tight shirts, or certain color shirts that showed off the wet marks more then others. Then I discovered this antiperspirant over the internet called MAXIM at www.coradhealthcare.com. I didn't think it would work on me because i have tried eveything but I was desperate. I couldn't beleive it worked!!! Like right away! You put it on at night like a roll on deodorant. It stays on I'm not sure how. After using it every other night, it got to be once a week, once a month.....For real! The only complaint I have is this awful itching it does right after I put it on. But I can totally put up with that in exchange for all the things I can do now like wearing tighter pretty clothes or going to places where I wouldn't have, because I was afriad of underarm sweating wet marks. Please try it!!! I swear you will be glad you did.
Reply:have you tried 'certain dry'? ask your pharmacist about it.

I sweat a lot. Is there anyway to stop or at least minimize the amount I sweat?
It's genetic. My Dad was this way and now I am, too. I sweat like a mule. (I know the expression is "sweat like a pig" but pigs don't actually sweat. I did an Internet search and learned the equine species is the one that sweats most: horses, donkeys, mules, etc.)
I keep the air conditioning cranked up in my home and car; I wear cool clothes; but I still sweat. Not just underarms, but my neck, my head (I wear a pony tail all summer to keep my hair from being soaked in sweat and limply lying on my head), my back... you name it.
I sweat a lot. Is there anyway to stop or at least minimize the amount I sweat?
Consult your physician. Probably you need calcium.

If I don't break a sweat while on my stationary exercise bike, am I doing myself any good?
Am I still helping my body and losing weight? Should I continue to do it? I usually sweat pretty easily, but not on this bike. Then again, it's in my basement so it is a little colder.
Is it worth using an exercise bike if I don't sweat or feel tired after using it? Thanks.
If I don't break a sweat while on my stationary exercise bike, am I doing myself any good?
Yes you are...Still keeping yourself in shape
If I don't break a sweat while on my stationary exercise bike, am I doing myself any good?
Sure. You are probably in great condition and boy does that air conditioning help
Reply:anything that you do to exercise helps....it doesn't have to kill you in the process
Reply:no way. you have to sweat because thats what burns away the fat and gains you musle. make sure you dring a lot of water. alot... u should not work out with the air conditioner on because that does not help you at all. a fan is ok. also. you might want to buy vitamin water if u know what that is. get the energy type. trust me it helps you to the extrem. and my doctor says even if u drink it with out excerise. it does not hurt you. it helps you lose calories faster. and does not give you any musle pain like the burning pain.
Reply:First have you tried raising the intensity of your work out. Is this a regular stationary bike with out any resistance force applications? If so it probably isn't the best for you. If it is then I recomend that you increase the resistance slowly untill you find yourself sweating.
The other thing is that if you have been doing this for a long time your body has a magnifacent way of adapting it's self to your conditions. If you do the same work out time after time your body will catch on and regulate it self to make that the norm. It's called homeostasis, That is where you body finds it norm of burning calories and absorbing them.
Basicly if you do the same exercise over and over your body will get used to it. Try changing it up. Try the stationary, boost it up then do a quick lap around the block. A brisk jog nothing to serious. Remember weights should also be introduced into the work out at least 2 to 3 times a week for 45 min to an hour. resistance training is what it is called and it helps to increase muscle mass.
Don't do heavy weights just mid range waits that you can handle 3 reps of 15. Variation is the key.
As for the sweating there is no reason why you shouldn't be sweatin if you are working out at top condition. haven't you ever gone hiking up a hill during the winter? noticed that you sweated that time. it can be 20 below and you will still sweat. its your internal body tempeture that makes you sweat. It doesn't matter how air conditioned the room is or how cold it is outside.
Just step it up, keep pushing yourself a little harder every day, and focus on besting your best.
Reply:The whole idea to lose weight on the bike is to get your heart rate up and keep it there for a minimum of 30 minutes. You should be taking your heart rate to make sure you're doing this. Some people don't sweat easily like others, so taking your heart rate would be the best idea so you can monitor yourself.
Go to your search engine and type in "how do I take my heart rate" and you can find out how, hope this helps. I have a person in my class that doesn't sweat and everyone else is soaked!

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/...
Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.ht...
Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/w...
It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsou...
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/P...
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.
Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is "Muscle and Fitness". Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/
A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.
*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.
*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com
Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe.

Why does she sweat?
whenever i breastfeed my 5 mos old she sweats a lot , she has always been this way. should i be concerned?
Why does she sweat?
when your daughter breastfeeds she is up against you which creates warmth and she sweats. Same thing with my daughter.
Why does she sweat?
yes... check her with the doctor is what i say
Reply:maybe she's over dressed and maybe she gets extra body heat from you because when i cuddle with my husband i get so hot and sweat because of the extra body heat from him
Reply:I think it's from being so close to you- bare skin to bare skin. I had the same issue with my daughter, I think it's fine.
Reply:Probably too hot. Less heat in he room or less clothing.
Reply:get her tested for cystic fibrosis
Reply:She could just be hot natured. Do you keep her bundled up too much?

How to stop sweat pimples?
Its been getting really hot lately and my sister is starting to get alot of sweat pimples on her shoulder blades and back side. Is there anyway of getting rid of them or reducing the apperance of them?
How to stop sweat pimples?
Keep the area as dry as possible use talcum powder and wear cotton clothes that allow your skin to breathe better.
How to stop sweat pimples?
stop sweating
Reply:Umm, maybe use a body wash with salicylic acid. Then try and stay out of hot areas if possible(ie stay in shade)
Wear light weight clothing...but you know what really gets rid of them is if you lie in the sun with a tank top lying on your stomach for a while. It helps dry up the pimples but you risk getting a sunburn!!! Good luck :)
Reply:clearasil/or stridex pads. i use them in the summer and warmer months.

Dealing with night sweats...Help!?
I am 40 years old and going through peri-menopause, arrrghh! How do you deal with unbelievable night sweats? I wake up soaked every night, at least 2-3 times. I have to get those light weight tee-shirts off and try not to wake up my husband. IT IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dealing with night sweats...Help!?
My sister went through this at age 37, and my 40 year old wife is beginning to show signs of peripause as well... My mother had menopause 30 years ago but still gets hot flashes and the occasional night sweats too...
Try having a light carb snack just before bed. Night sweats are often associated with a drop in blood sugar (I get them all the time as a diabetic) and peripause can mess with your endocrine system, which in turn can give you passing episodes of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
Also, avoid using oils or lotions in the hours before bedtime. These trap enormous amounts of body heat and can contribute to night sweats.
Try getting a small fan (like those 6" clip-on models) to keep the air in the bedroom circulating without freezing you. This helps my mom quite a bit...
I have been told by a couple women that lots of good healthy orgasms will lessen peripause symptoms. I have never investigated this so don't know if there is a scientific basis for it, although i do intend to do extensive experiments with the wife here in the coming months! Thought I'd throw it out there anyway, since it can't hurt after all...
Best,
Ed, RN

you get wet, huh? ha, "i wake up soaked every night" - thats wat she said %26lt;:-)
Reply:I'm 45 and have this problem, too. I recently started taking a woman's multivitamin and noticed that they are happening less frequent. A ceiling fan helps too!
Reply:Wow! I know just how you feel!
I suffer with hot flashes and get completely sweaty. I have tried everything the doctors recommended and have found that while there really isn't a cure there are some things that can help. I found a source for pj's that evaporate the sweat really quickly. I can even wear the tank tops to exercise class and am much drier than the others there. On top of everything else, I live in a sweltering climate and wear the tank top out. I used to wake up every night soaked and now there are nights when the pj's dissipate the sweat fast enough that I just sleep through it. I tried a few different brands of pj's and the ones that worked the best and were the most comfortable are available at www.cooljamaz.com
Good Luck... I wish there was more for us. But at least this is something.
Also, some people swear by black cohash but I don't really like to take anything...

Jeans, capris, khakis, sweats or PJ pants?
What do you prefer? I haven't worn jeans since I broke my leg in May, I wear capris often because of the leg brace I need; I wear khakis to work (they are stretchy), I hate sweats and I live in a pair of pj pants at home. And you??

If you dont sweat when you jog/exercise, does that mean your not really burning any fat or calories?
and why is it good to sweat
If you dont sweat when you jog/exercise, does that mean your not really burning any fat or calories?
you do, the first twenty minutes or so you just burn off water and after that you styart to burn off fat, but if you dont sweat it means your body has no water, sometimes you may sweat ALOT when you are not really tired but it just means that youve drunk alot of water lately. for girls sweating is actually good cvause it cleanses your pores if you wash your face after a good workout. just remember to lose weight you need to walk/jog/run for at least thirty minutes, what i do is walk for about 15 just to get my body going and start running after twnty to burn off fat faster.
If you dont sweat when you jog/exercise, does that mean your not really burning any fat or calories?
you are burning fat and calories despite sweat or not
http://www.best-diet-food.com
Reply:no sweat can mean dehydration, sweat is good because who really wants to pant?
Reply:sweating is a negative feedback mechanism of your body
when it detects that your body temp is increasing..
it is a mechanism that cools you down
but it doesnt necessarily mean that you dont burn calories..
in fact, you are still burning calories even if you are at rest...
sweating has good effects on the body..
it not only cools you up when your getting hot,
but also, it excretes the waste products of your body..
sweat has some of your toxins..so the more you sweat,
the more you eliminate the waste products of your body
aside from bowel and bladder elimination...
thanks

Reply:well I kinda have the same problem....you should shower every morning and just use regular body lotion instead of a moisturizer.....you could also just change ur class schedule this upcoming semmester.
Reply:you shouldn't just put coco butter on your face you should be using a moisturizing face wash. and the accompanying facial moisturizer operative word here is facial... if you don't know what would fit your skin type go to a salon for a facial and they will access your skin or see a dermatologist (best bet).
Reply:really anything but cocoa butter. the base of cocoa butter..."butter" so of course when you sweat, it will "melt" like butter. if you want just use it at night then use something other moisturizer in the morning. of course you dont need moisturizer after you sweat-all the natural oils in your skin come out which naturally moisturize your skin. just go with anything besides cocoa butter. you could use it at night but wipe it off in the morning-if you feel you need moisturizer in the am....use anything else.
Reply:Aveeno has great moisturizers. You need to use one that actually absorbs into your skin rather than sits on top. Use a thicker, heavier cream at night. This will help to be less dry in the am. Use a light one when you are going to be sweating, very few are sweat proof- just cleanse your face after %26amp; apply more moisturizer.
From what you wrote, if you are waking up dry- you do need a heavier lotion- creams are usually thicker so try a cream. Every skin type needs moisture- even oily. Stay moisturized %26amp; you skin will act better. Sometimes if you are TOO dry, your skin cannot absorb the moisture because there is a dry, dead skin barrier. Exfoliate to help remove this %26amp; then dry moisturizing.
Good luck!
Reply:use avon skin so soft an avon person is in the paper or a phone book or try finding someone online why its the best for skin
Reply:I too have very dry skin. However I have learned to manage it well. Here are some tips. 1. Eat right, no amount of cream can rejuvenate unhealthy skin and what you eat is directly linked to the health of your skin. also take a good multivitamin.
2. Drink right. don't expect your skin to be moist and supple if you are dehydrated. Drink water, Gatorade, juice. Hydrate!
3. Exercise. sweating in second period is a good thing for your skin, however inconvenient it may be during class. Try excersize out side of class so that you body grows used to physical activity. In fact nothing helps my skin more during the winter than working out and sitting in a steam room or sauna and sweating.
4. Don't bathe or shower in water that is to hot. remember that your skin is the largest organ in your body and the single most important defense against infection. hot water can damage the outer layer and cause you to peel more and feel more dry.
5. use a good cream cetaphil works wonders for me.
Good luck
Reply:My family and I have very dry skin as well. The best lotion for dry skin that I have found and will clear it up within a couple of days is Corn Huskers Lotion. You only have to use a small amount, it is clear, and it is oil free! Use this a few times to clear it up and then resume use of a normal facial mosturizer. Hope this helps.

Does using a sweat suit good for losing weight??
I just started using a sweat suit.I am wearing it after 12:00 noon when it's really hot and I also run in it.Is this a good thing?
Does using a sweat suit good for losing weight??
definetly a good thing. As long as your sweating alot your burning calories. I don't know where you live but i know down here in Houston Texas the summers are HOT. I like to drink a couple cups of coffee(also makes you sweat and burn calories), throw on some sweats and go running. Just make sure to drink plenty of fluids throughout the day.
Does using a sweat suit good for losing weight??
No.
Whatever water weight you lose by sweating you will recoup as soon as you drink water.
Sweat suits are used for crash diets, like wrestlers struggling to make a weight limit. They are needlessly hard on the body for little short-term benefit, and none long-term.
Reply:Wearing a sweat suit will only help you lose water weight, because you will be sweating more. This, of course, will cause a certain amount of dehydration, which you will have to make up by drinking more water.
You aren't looking to lose weight. You are looking to lose fat. The best way to do that is to increase your resting metabolism. The best way to do that is to increase your muscle mass. And the best way to do that is to do resistance training with weights at least twice a week. Hit all the major muscle groups with at least one set of 10 - 15 reps. 30 - 45 minutes tops.
Reply:First off BE CAREFUL you can become VERY dehydrated and end up in the hospital.
These suits are used by wrestlers to loose water weight. Basically so they can make their weight range.
If you use it correctly you can loose weight because it makes you sweat more but the weight will usually come back as soon as you drink water.

Why do I sweat so much after taking a shower?

Why do I sweat so much after taking a shower?
Excessive Sweating Symptoms %26amp; Causes:
Sweat can occur in many different areas on the body. Most commonly, hyperhidrosis occurs on the palms of the hands. In such cases, this condition is known as Palmar Hyperhidrosis. But hyperhidrosis is not just limited to the hands, it can also occur on the face, the soles of the feet (plantar), and in the armpits (axillae).
Regardless of where it occurs, excessive sweating presents an incredible problem to those living with the condition. When the act of shaking hands presents a problem, business and day-to-day life can become very uncomfortable. Many patients report that they are even embarrassed to hold the hands of those they love and those they are closest to. Some patients report that the sweat prevents them from being as sociable as they would like to be, as they are forced to hide in the shadow of hyperhidrosis. Other problems occur such as smeared ink when writing or an inability to use electronic devices such as keyboards and computers. Hyperhidrosis can extremely affect people socially and functionally in their everyday lives. Thankfully, there is a permanent surgical cure for the condition.
Hyperhidrosis is not a temporary condition. Many people who suffer from it have suffered for many years, usually since childhood. Also, whether living in a hot or cold climate, patients who experience hyperhidrosis experience constant sweating.
Causes of Excessive Sweating:
While doctors don't know why excessive sweating starts, the most likely cause is a genetic one. They have successfully linked it to over-activity in the sympathetic nervous system. Specifically, it is the Thoracic Sympathetic Ganglion Chain, which runs along the vertebra of the spine inside the chest cavity.
This chain controls the glands, known as the apocrine and eccrine glands, responsible for perspiration throughout the entire body. The eccrine sweat glands are mainly concentrated in the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. In most cases, the hands and feet are affected. To a lesser degree, the face and armpit (axillae) regions are affected. Another manifestation of the hyperactive sympathetic activity is facial blushing.
Sometimes people sweat heavily because of other illnesses such as hyperthyroidism, psychiatric disorders, menopause and obesity. These causes must first be ruled out before Primary Hyperhidrosis can be diagnosed. Dr. Reisfeld speaks with potential candidates for the procedure over the phone or in person to review their condition and advise them of their best options.

Is leaving facial sweat to dry after a work out bad?
by this i mean: can i break out if i leave sweat dry on my skin instead of wiping it off?
Is leaving facial sweat to dry after a work out bad?
Sweat cleanses your body of contaminants, i.e., harmful pollutants, etc. So yes, it would be bad to leave it on your skin after a workout.
Except for when your body needs to cool down - which is the purpose of sweating in the first place - I'd wash my face with tepid water.

Why do i sweat from my palms and underfeet?
i always sweat from my palms and underfeet, and this make my feet slippery in my shoes and make papers i hold to get wet and get torn sometimes.this really makes me uncomfortable
Why do i sweat from my palms and underfeet?
My cousin had this. No matter what she used or what the weather was like, she was always dripping with sweat. It was so embarrasing for her.
The good news is that she had a couple of botox shots in those areas and the problem has never come back.
Go see a GP and this will all be in the past.
Why do i sweat from my palms and underfeet?
Rarely it is seen in some otherwise normal persons.
Nerveousness and anxiety may be a cause in some cases.
Possiblity of Hansen's disease also to be kept in mind.

Don't animals sweat?
Doggies have wet noses when they sweat. What about the birds ,squirrels, wild animals..How do they lose moisture from their body.
Don't animals sweat?
Dogs have wet noses even when they don't sweat. Animals, like cats and dogs, have wet noses for a reason. Their wet nose acts like an air coniditioner for their brain. The air they breathe out is actually cooler than the air they breather in.
Some animals will pant to cool off while some will get in water. The majority of wildlife aren't active during the hottest part of the day. You have to look at each species individually. Mammals, like the walrus, can be preyed upon easily. If you chase them for awhile they will have to stop. Due to all of their blubber they can only run for a certain distance because they will overheat. Knowing the region an animal lives in will give an indication of how they handle temperature. Mammals that live in arctic or some other cold region will have a thicker layer of fur or thick skin. The opposite would apply for animals living in other regions. The fur of an animal can also help to trap air which can cool them off.
Don't animals sweat?
warm-blooded animals sweat or pant to loose heat by water evaporation. They can also cool off by moving into a shaded area or by getting wet
Reply:Dogs pant in order to cool down, it has nothing to do with their wet nose. Other animals eithor sweat similar to humans, or they too pant like dogs.
Reply:Pigs and horses sweat; but most animals pant to get rid of excess body heat.
Reply:All land mammals sweat to cool themselves down
Reply:dogs don't have sweat glands so they don't sweat. their noses are just naturally wet.

I tend to sweat a lot!?
I sweat a lot! The worse is when I wear really short sleeved shirts. I have been using two types of deodrant but it doesn't seem to work. My job is indoors and gets really embarassing. Does anybody have an advice?
I tend to sweat a lot!?
Clinical helps some, but the greatest thing ever is one cup of hot water, 2 tbs of apple cider vinegar with 2 tbs. of honey and you will be amazed! Drink this two times a day. Don't sip on it long though. Try to drink it within 10 minutes because some say over time it can hurt you teeth. Take a look on the web. There are a lot of sites about it.

Try having a rag near you.Don't worry perspiration never hurt anyone.
Reply:ok ew good thing your anonymous
Reply:just go to rest room to clean up often if deodrant doesnt work. Try another one maybe
Reply:I had the same problem...I just talked to my doctor and she gave me drysol (you put it on at night and after a while you stop the excess sweating!) I had hyperhydrosis (meaning sweating a lot!!) and drysol worked to stop that, so I think that it would help you out.

How to remove sweat stain from valuable t-****? (valuable to me at least)?
I have a t-shirt from 1990 which is very valuable to me. There is a sweat stain on it %26amp; I'm wondering how best to remove it? The t-shirt is white %26amp; cotton. Would a dry cleaner be able to do it? Is there any other professional means of getting the stain out, if I'm not able to do it at home? Thanks.
How to remove sweat stain from valuable t-****? (valuable to me at least)?
Buy OxyClean stain removal products, or try the Tide stain removal products. Both are great brands that are guaranteed to work =)!
How to remove sweat stain from valuable t-****? (valuable to me at least)?
A sweat stain should come out in your regular wash cycle, Pre-treat the stain with Liquid detergent and let it soak over night. Then toss it in the wash with your other whites.
If for some reason it does not come out, do NOT dry it, take it to a drycleaner and they will be able to get it out for you.
Reply:Well if it is all white you could try a sparing amount of bleach, then wash it instantly. Another option is meat tenderizer, wet the shirt and rub it in and let it sit for awhile, but that doesn't last as long, but is not as harmful, as bleach.
Reply:im not sure if this is gonna work or not, you can hand wash the stain, but use hand soap not detergent.
you can remove blood that way

I have night sweats - is it normal?
They come and go. But I soak the entire bed and I will be dripping wet almost. It's nasty. I'm only 29 so I can't figure out why it's happening. I am a very anxious person and I was having palpitations because of it and my doc had my heart checked and my blood done and everything was fine ( I was having the night sweats at that time also). So what could it be? Am I dreaming and getting stressed or something?
I have night sweats - is it normal?
You need to see a different doctor who will try to find out why you are having the night sweats.
There are many different causes of night sweats. To determine what is causing night sweats in a particular individual, a doctor must obtain a detailed medical history and order tests to decide if an underlying medical condition is responsible for the night sweats. Some of the known conditions that can cause night sweats are:
Menopause 鈥?The hot flashes that accompany the menopausal transition can occur at night and cause sweating. This is a very common cause of night sweats in perimenopausal women.
Idiopathic hyperhidrosis 鈥?Idiopathic hyperhidrosis is a condition in which the body chronically produces too much sweat without any identifiable medical cause.
Infections 鈥?Classically, tuberculosis is the infection most commonly associated with night sweats. However, bacterial infections, such as endocarditis (inflammation of the heart valves), osteomyelitis (inflammation within the bones), and abscesses all may result in night sweats. Night sweats are also a symptom of AIDS virus (HIV) infection.
Cancers 鈥?Night sweats are an early symptom of some cancers. The most common type of cancer associated with night sweats is lymphoma. However, people who have an undiagnosed cancer frequently have other symptoms as well, such as unexplained weight loss and fevers.
Medications 鈥?Taking certain medications can lead to night sweats. In cases without other physical symptoms or signs of tumor or infection, medications are often determined to be the cause of night sweats. Antidepressant medications are a common type of medication that can lead to night sweats. All types of antidepressants can cause night sweats as a side effect, with a range in incidence from 8 to 22% of persons taking antidepressant drugs. Other psychiatric drugs have also been associated with night sweats. Medicines taken to lower fever such as aspirin and acetaminophen can sometimes lead to sweating. Other types of drugs can cause flushing, which, as mentioned above, may be confused with night sweats. Some of the many drugs that can cause flushing include:
niacin (taken in the higher doses used for lipid disorders),
tamoxifen,
hydralazine,
nitroglycerine, and
sildenafil (Viagra).
Many other drugs not mentioned above, including cortisone medications such as prednisone and prednisolone, may also be associated with flushing or night sweats.
Hypoglycemia 鈥?Sometimes low blood glucose can cause sweating. People who are taking insulin or oral anti-diabetic medications may experience hypoglycemia at night that is accompanied by sweating.
Hormone disorders - Sweating or flushing can be seen with several hormone disorders, including pheochromocytoma, carcinoid syndrome, and hyperthyroidism.
Neurologic conditions 鈥?Uncommonly, neurologic conditions including autonomic dysreflexia, post-traumatic syringomyelia, stroke, and autonomic neuropathy may cause increased sweating and possibly lead to night sweats.
I have night sweats - is it normal?
I suggest you see a gyno. They have a somewhat better outlook on hormonal changes and thyroid problems. I think we get night sweats due to estrogen, either a lack of, or to much of. A gyno could order your blood work for such abnormalities. Your young age and the problems with anxiety should not be an issue. Although, because of your anxiety, you might be fearing more. Antidepressants and possible hormone therapy might help. There are so many answers, but finding the reasons should involve all avenues. A good Gyn will be able to help you deal with all those issues.
I would suggest a GYN only, not one who also delivers babies. Or, a Internist. They seem to be more up on the latest. Not saying that other doctors are not qualified, but a famly doctor isn't going to spend as much time exploring these issues to a depth that you might need.

Why do humans sweat NaCl?
Why not H20? Why salt? And why do we even sweat?
Thanks!
Why do humans sweat NaCl?
Sweat is effectively blood plasma, with some of the proteins filtered out. The sweat glands take blood, and allow the liquid to filter through the walls of the capillaries. These filters are able to sort out the proteins, because they're fairly large, but Ca, K, Na, and Cl are too small to filter out easily (it can be done, it's just not worth it for the sweat glands). Since plasma contains lots of these ions, so does your sweat.
Also, it helps keep the ion concentration in the blood at a stable level. If the sweat glands filtered out these ions, so only H2O came out, your blood would lose water, and the concentrations of Na, Ca, K, and Cl (electrolytes) would increase. This is why you need electrolytes in your water if you are working out hard. You lose a lot of liquid through sweat, and if you replenish it with regular water, it will dilute the electrolytes in your blood, whereas sweating out pure H2O would concentrate them.
Why do humans sweat NaCl?
We sweat to cool our bodies off.
If we're too hot - the NaCl will cover our skin to lower its temperature. Salt is in sweat because it keeps the temperature of the liquid more stable... so if it was just water - it would evaporate right away... while salt allows it to slowly but surely cool you down and than evaporate.
Reply:First of all people do sweat H20.
