My boyfriend has sweat stains on this white t-shirt that he refuses to get rid of. Is there any thing that will take the stains out?
Sweat Stains?
Deodorant and Perspiration Stain Removal
Yellow underarm shirt stains are likely caused by a combination of deodorant and perspiration. Many deodorants and antiperspirants contain aluminum salts. When these salts are combined with laundry detergent, especially in cooler water settings, they are not easily dissolved, and they remain on the fabric.
To remove the stains, try soaking the shirts in warm water with an enzyme pre-soak product or rubbing the soiled area with white vinegar. Wash in the hottest water safe for the fabric. If the stain remains, dampen and sprinkle stain with meat tenderizer. Let stand for about an hour, and launder again.
To avoid new stains from forming, always wash the shirts in the hottest water safe for the fabric. Also, allow antiperspirant to dry completely before dressing
Sweat Stains?
If it's a cotton t-shirt:
Try an enzyme presoak product and use according to package directions. After soaking, launder as usual. For older laundry stains, sponge area with a diluted solution of white vinegar and water, then launder. If fabric color has changed, stretch the stained area over a bowl of ammonia so fumes penetrate while the spot is moist. Prompt treatment of perspiration stains is necessary, as they can weaken most fibers. Caution: Never iron a garment with perspiration stains -- the heat will set them.
Reply:i've heard that Oxyclean get out armpit stains but i have never tried it. i have used oxyclean on other stuff and it has worked so maybe that's worth a shot.
if that doesn't work, i'm not sure what will!
Reply:Soak in cold water , then buy some good old fashioned bar soap , you know the kind for washing clothes, it麓s normally brown in color, So rub the soap onto the stain, Leaving the soap on for 1/2 hr or so , then back to cold water , add more soap leave the soap on and pop into the machine on a 40潞c wash , Now hang out in the sun ,and the sun will do the rest of the work by bleaching the rest of the stain out , the natural way
Reply:Here is the best thing to get rid of any stains. This works great. Buy dawn orginal dish soap. Put a little on the stain add cold water rub together. Than put a little soap in a bowl with cold water soak over night. Rinse it or throw it in the wash machine. Stain gone.
