Best foundation for this problem..?

I am going to a street dance in about a month and a rennesance festival and ill be outside all day and night and it will be extremely hot and muggy outside. Everytime i stay outside in these conditions my makeup starts to sweat away and i end up having to have to put more on while my face is sweaty and oily. i really really need some advise as to some sort of foundation that wont sweat off or wont give me the appearance that ive been sweating at all and i look fresh all day. i dont care if its a powder, cream, liquid, or powder and liquid..
Best foundation for this problem..?
Mineral makeup. Jane Iredale is the best, but there are less expensive lines on the market.

Sweat and muggy days are no prob with this powder makeup. Oily skin types are fine, too. And it only takes 15 seconds at most to apply!
Best foundation for this problem..?
I love Covergirl foundation. I've always used it.
Reply:Estee Lauder Double Wear- Lasts up to 15 hours, oil-free, transfer resistant.
Reply:clinque has a product that can be worn over makeup for oily, sweaty skin, called t-zone acne cream, that is to stop any oil you may have from the heat and you can also apply it many times threw out the day without touching your makeup. It works great as my skin is very oily. In the summer I swear you could fry eggs on my face with the grease alone, lol.
Reply:www.smokymountainminerals.com this is a powder mineral foundation for 9.95 - free shipping compared to 30.00 + from some of the other co. and its just as good!
Reply:Mineral make-up works really good
Reply:Just don't wear any.
Reply:Powder usually doesn't sweat off. Or, if you're really insane, you can get actors makeup in a color that matches your skin tone. That's built to stand up to hot stage lights, and let me tell you- actors sweat A LOT onstage. Especially in bulky costume. That's what I'd say, although it isn't very comfortable to wear....

Help Please?

I am 15 and I have a huge sweating problem. I have tried many deortans including secret clinical strength. Mainly I sweat for no reason, or when I am stressed out. I need some advice on how to stop sweating.

Help Please?

If I sweat will I ruin my air brush tan?

i got an air brush tan done 3 days ago and I would like to start working out but I'm scared that if I sweat I will ruin my tan. Will that happen when I workout for an hour?
If I sweat will I ruin my air brush tan?
Nope it is like a temporary tattoo. It won't make it come off.

Salt baths dangerous?

Ok, so I'm kind of scared. I don't know if I should be. I read somewhere that you couldlose weight from taking a salt bath. I didn't have any epsom salts so I used like a cup of regular table salt and really hot water. I mean, the water was steaming. I stayed in until I thought I might pass out. Like, the lights were dimming and my music was sounding kind of far away and I was nauseous. Not to mention I was pouring sweat... that was five minutes ago and I'm still sweating. My whole body is pulsing and I just can't stop sweating. I still feel really faint and nearly fell down when going back into my room.

Is my body just freaking out or is this something to worry about? I only stayed in for like 20-25 minutes... I wasn't really keeping track... only by the length of the music.
Salt baths dangerous?
It sounds like you are suffering from heat stress, cool your self fast real fast... cold shower...

you will feel like crap for some time,

but if your body cant cool its self your heart will stop out of pure stress
Salt baths dangerous?
I think you just got a case of hyperthermia. It can be potentially dangerous.Cool your body ASAP. Get into cold shower. Drink water. Put cold compress on your neck. But do not overdo it, please!

What deodorant should I use?

I want one that will protect me from smelling AND sweating (the one that I am useing now, It is not really doing a good job because I still sweat, but the sweat does no smell) so please what should I use?
What deodorant should I use?
I am a heavy sweater also. The following deodorants have worked very well for me:

Arm %26amp; Hammer

Dove

Also, every week, wipe your armpits with rubbing alcohol. Once a week after you shower and dry off.
What deodorant should I use?
I don't think that there is a DO that stops you from sweating. But, even if there is , it is probably better to sweat because it is your body's natural process of getting rid of some of the things that it does not want or need.
Reply:ax is very good too..

im kidding...lol

dove is the best..
Reply:Secret baby powder scent.
Reply:I sweat a lot and secret platinum protection is the best I've ever used.
Reply:Use mitchum....It says on the package you could "skip a day" and I really think you could

Plz plz help about **** sweat?

at around 4th period of school my but starts to sweat bad. and when i get up u can see the sweat on the sit and it aint hot where i live plz what can i do i feel so ashamed :(
Plz plz help about **** sweat?
Yes,I'm sure.
Plz plz help about **** sweat?
I'm sorry. YOu can use either baby powder or anti-persperant. Also, it may by the kind of underwear you are choosng. Make sure they are cotton to absord the sweat

Really, REALLY stupid question....how do you use/put on deodorant?

I always put on deodorant right after a shower... is that the right time to put on deodorant or are you only supposed to put it on when you are sweating? And does shaving your armpits also help decrease the wetness. I have to ask this question because whenever I wear clothes that hug my skin I sweat (really bad). When I wear bigger t-shirts I hardly sweat! Why?!?!?! Does this only happen to me?!?! :( What am I doing wrong?
Really, REALLY stupid question....how do you use/put on deodorant?
When it dought, use it! Keep a deoderent in your pocket book or school bag to always have with you. I like the clear kind so my cloths won't show it.
Really, REALLY stupid question....how do you use/put on deodorant?
are you serious?
Reply:put deoderent on when ever, i put it on when i leave the house and when i get dressed, idk about the shaving thing though.
Reply:I have the same issue sometimes. Some people just have more overactive sweat glands. There is a deodorant called certain dri I have used a few times. You put it on at night before bed and it seriously stops all your sweat the next day. It burns pretty bad the first couple times you use it though, so don't shave right before.
Reply:I sweat a lot even with loose shirts.

Sometimes I find shaving helps because the sweat doesn't have any hair to linger to.

But what I do is put on an antipersperant((decreases sweating))/deodorant((decreases odor)) after a shower at night to let it sink into my skin, then put on more in the morning.
Reply:lol. this sort of made me laugh =D

but i always put deodorant right after the shower too. %26amp; i don't sweat very much unless i'm doing a lot of activity. but i used to sweat a lot, when i used to use this other kind of deodorant [i can't really remember the name]. but now i use Ban, Suave[the blue bottle that says 24 hour protection, invisible solid], %26amp; Secret Platinum they all work really well.

hope this helps!
Reply:Oh I'm like that too. It's so embarassing....Whenever you wear tight clothes whether its hot or cold outside you sweat right? It has nothing to do with the way you put deodorant on (supposed to put it on after a shower)

I was like that so i went to the dermatologist and he prescribed be this super good deo. I don't sweat anymore!

Go see your dermatologist
Reply:Cover your pits after you take a shower!
Reply:Its becuase when you wear baggier shirts your armpits have more room to breathe. YOu should put it on after showering or before doing any activities, you should also try the clinical stregth deodorants that they have out ther now. Look on the back of your deodorant and it will tell you a percentage of how much anti persperent is in it. THe most you can get is 20% so look for that.
Reply:shaving helps control the sweat and the amt of bacteria that live in your armpit

sweat is not what smells bad it's the bacteria that live in your armpits and "eat" sweat that makes it smell bad

your skin is suppose to be dry

after you shower and dry

put on your bra and shirt

then put it on
Reply:Deodorant doesn't stop wetness. It deodorizes perspiration.

An anti-perspirant stops most wetness for most people, and it deodorizes the sweat that it doesn't stop.

So, if you want to stop wetness, you need to use the right thing. On top of that, you should apply it after your shower on dry skin. The way it works is that it actually plugs/seals the pores that contain your underarm sweat glands. So if the skin is wet or damp, the application is less effective. If needed, use your hair dryer to dry your underarm area thoroughly, then apply a nice, thick coating of antiperspirant, and after about 10 minutes or, so wipe gently with a tissue, to remove the worst of the excess. Don't rub it all off, though.

You probably perspire the same, regardless of what you wear, but you notice it when you wear tighter fitting clothes, because you see it on your clothes, the clothes are wet against your skin, etc.

Shaving under your arms doesn't make you perspire less. It gives you a smoother surface on which to apply the product, which makes it more effective; conversely, a ball of hair under your arm holds wetness.
Reply:Its best to apply deodorant after a shower when the skin is dry, otherwise if your armpits are still wet, it will be diluted from the moisture.

Certain materials and fabrics can also cause undo sweating too and choosing a deodorant makes a whole difference as well. If you are using just a plain deodorant they only work half as well as an anti perspirant deodorant combo, these types work much better in providing wetness protection from sweating, switch to the anti perspirant deodorant and you will notice a big difference.
Reply:Yeah, after a shower, but after sweating is pointless because the deo won't hide the smell. And shaving has nothing to do with it. And for the tight clothes, loose clothes are more away from the body so the sweat doesn't show.
Reply:Just put it on daily woman!!
Reply:because when you wear tight clothes it gets hotter. i always put it on after the shower. i use the gel because the it doesn't stain

Will this sweat wrap make my stomach smaller faster?
if you exercise

;)
Will this sweat wrap make my stomach smaller faster?
Gimmick.

Especially since it was sold and purchased at Wal-mart.

No you most likely won't lose weight faster.

Eat a better diet and do cardio workouts, that's the sure fire way to make the weight drop off your stomach.
Reply:It may work faster than traditional ways of reducing your WAISTLINE, but it will turn back into a WASTELINE when you stop using it.

Can you sweat out a disease?

I have a cough and a runny nose. Normal stuff. I was tired earlier today but after taking two naps I was feeling good so I went and played basketball. Can you actually sweat out a sickness?
Can you sweat out a disease?
In some ways yes.

If it was something like a cold then you sweat it out very easily if you drink fluids while you are sweating.
Can you sweat out a disease?
No.
Reply:The "sweat it out" theory has been proven false but not proven true.

so no, you can't.

i have the same thing as you and asked my doctor about it, and the best thing to do is rest.
Reply:Yep.
Reply:Only Herpes.
Reply:No more than you can bleed out a disease.
Reply:It's body heat that is going to help you get well, so if you are warm and sweat a little, that should help, but if you are using your energy to play basketball, then I don't think you are gaining anything, you need energy to get well too, but getting out in the sun really helps, the sun is really good for you, but don't get burned
Reply:*smiles* Wish that was possible. Unfortunately, you can not sweat out a sickness. The best way to get rid of the common cold is to get lots of rest, drink plenty of water to keep your body properly hydrated, and eat a healthy diet to give your body the nutrients it needs to keep it strong.

Note: Caffeine will not hydrate you; it will do just the opposite. So drink about 8 8 ounce glasses of water a day, and you should be alright.

From where sweat comes?

my hands sweats too much. so, any one please advice me what should i do?
From where sweat comes?
Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating, which can be focal or diffuse and has multiple causes. Sweating of the axillae, palms, and soles is most often due to stress; diffuse sweating is usually idiopathic but should raise suspicions for malignancies, infection, and endocrine disease. Diagnosis is obvious, but tests for underlying causes may be indicated. Treatment is topical aluminum chloride, tap water iontophoresis, botulinum toxin, and, in extreme cases, surgery.

Please see the web pages for more details on Hyperhidrosis.
From where sweat comes?
comes from sweat glands, see a real doctor, there are meds to help with excessive sweating now.
Reply:comes from sweat glands, see a real doctor, there are meds to help with excessive sweating now
Reply:Sweat is a liquid, mostly water, that comes from the body when it is hot. It comes from pores in the skin. These pores are so small they can not be seen. Skin has a lot of pores. Sweat is salty.

Sweat comes out when the body is hot because it helps cool it down. The sweat takes the heat from the body when it evaporates turns to gas.
Reply:from your body.
Reply:from sweat glands during excretion process
Reply:Your question have two parts. The first part first as it is of importance to all

1- When outside temperature is more compared to the body it start a mechanism to offset the effect of out side temperature on skin and external surface of the body. Skin have sweat glands. These glands extract water and salt from blood in capillaries below the skin and pour over the surface of skin. As outside temperature is high the water and minerals spreading on surface of skin evaporate. This process of evaporation consume lot of heat from the external layer of the body and because of this consumption of heat the temperature of body is maintained and not affected by out side high temperature. The sweating is more visible and felt when the outside air is humid. In case of dry air and high temperature the sweat is not visible but outflow of water is higher. So one need to be cautious.

Sweating is not bad but excessive outflow of water and minerals in the form of sweat could cause many problems. So in case of excessive sweating one should try to balance it by oral intake of water, sugar, salt and lemon

2- Now coming to sweating in your hand- this have nothing to do with the general process and temperature maintenance mechanism of body. If I try to explain it here it could create confusion. Please consult your doctor.
Reply:Sweat glands under the skin. Wash your hands with plain water and dry with a soft cloth.

Do cats sweat?

I know that their hair keeps them cool in summer and warm in winter but do they sweat?
Do cats sweat?
The truth is that cats do sweat. They sweat through their paws. A frightened cat may even leave a trail of wet footprints on the ground. However, because paws have too small a surface area to do much cooling, cats have developed additional strategies for coping with heat. For example, they seek out shady spots and try not to exert themselves. Also, like dogs, cats like to sprawl out on cool surfaces in a way that maximizes coolness and minimizes heat. As for those frequent baths your cat is taking, they work in the same way that sweating does. When the saliva evaporates off fur, it lowers body temperature.
Do cats sweat?
Yes, they do sweat. But they sweat just like dogs and pant. Usually they take the heat pretty well and actually love to sleep in it.
Reply:idk i dont think so
Reply:I don't think so.. they pant like dogs (at least my cat does after he's finished running around like crazy)
Reply:no. they pant to relieve the heat
Reply:They do just like dogs but you cant see there sweat tho sometimes they like it.

Good Luck!!
Reply:Cats only sweat very lightly on their paw pads and between the toes. Same with doggies.
Reply:cats, like dogs pant when they get overheated. they don't actually sweat
Reply:Cats regulate their body temperatures through their tummy's. If they are hot they will lay on their backs, bellies in the air. When they are cold they will curl up in a ball.

Is this true..?

someone told me that you ONLY have to re-apply sunblock if you have been sweating or were in water.so if you are not sweating ,towling or were swimming or anything...you don't have to re-apply sunblock.is this true??because i neve sweat and re-applying can be soo annoying!
Is this true..?
every 3-4 hours, you need to re-apply.

it may be annoying, but leathery skin 20 years later can be annoying and un-attractive.

having to get surgery because you have skin cancer can also be annoying, not to mention expensive and painful.

having sunburn is annoying and painful.

get a water-proof sunblock, so sweat and swimming won't wash it away right after you put it on.
Is this true..?
well i dont think u have to reapply sunblock
Reply:No, it still wears off. If you don't sweat or get wet or anything, then only reapply every three-four hours, but you still have to reapply. I'd just get a spray on. It's easier.
Reply:im pretty sure its made to be water proof...
Reply:It wears off no matter what. But if it was water proff then if you went in the water it would still be there. But after a while you should re-apply it.
Reply:Not True
Reply:You still have to re-apply it but prob not as often as you would have to if you sweat, or swim.
Reply:if sun exposure is between 10am-3pm, re-applying should be every 2 hours.. otherwise, every 3-4 hours.. yes it's gonna be so annoying, but it will all pay off after a decade when you look at the mirror.. the sun is the no. 1 cause of premature aging..

thank the time because you have it now. :-)

My underarms sweat a lot. Any suggestions?????

My underarms sweat a lot even in winter. It gives me a complex. Can u give me any suggestions so that I can get rid of it?
My underarms sweat a lot. Any suggestions?????
I use a product called Driclor, you can buy it at a chemist/pharmacy. You wash your underarms at night and dry them, then apply the product, it kind of tingles, like having a hedgehog rolled on your underarms. Then in the morning wash it off in the shower and apply your normal antiperspirant. The instructions say to apply it every night for 2 weeks, well I found that I didn't need to use it that much, try it and see what you think, apply it every 2nd night to start with. I found I need to use it once per week, I do not sweat at all from my underarms.
My underarms sweat a lot. Any suggestions?????
antiperspirant and lose some weight.
Reply:Hey thats mean! Um Use Stuff that goes on dry.. it works for me ;-) Shorty.
Reply:try secret clinical strength. it worked for me.

or i know it sounds weird but use, mens deoderant. like Axe.

i use that now. it works too. lol

or when you shower, use axe soap and scrub your arm pitts really hard.
Reply:Baby powder and deodorant. There is actually medication that you can get prescribed to you for that as well.
Reply:hi

%26gt; try to use a lemon and rub it under your underarms

%26gt;dont eat too much of meat and chocolates

%26gt;take a bath everyday

%26gt;lose weight
Reply:Best thing is you can stay under a Fan or Stay in a Airconditioned room. If not possible Apply Talcum Powder there. (Good Brand Please)
Reply:try using a talcum powder deoderent. you might be able to find them in asian shops but try looking around as im not sure how common they are.
Reply:i had this problem so i went to my doctors and he gave me a special deodrant i think it works it is called Anhydrol Forte go see your doctor and ask to try it what can you lose its good really.
Reply:get them botoxed from a trained cosmetologist. This will stop the sweating for 3-6 months after one sitting. only side effect: multiple pricks %26amp; the huge bill

but if you can afford it works wonderfully. Need more info n that? mail me back on cosy_devil1@yahoo.com
Reply:powder deodorant try mens brands also but the more seatier guys i know use the powder (tuxedo )or it has a picutre of a tuxedo on it ???? use powder also its less likely to cause cancer
Reply:Hey try this, it's a really new brand, but i've bought it, so i think it'll help you too! :) Surgery's don't really work for me, so i choose this.
Reply:have a wash

use powder

and antipersperant
Reply:Use babypowder and secret clinical strength deoderant. In the meantime, try to wear dark colored shirts to hide sweating.
Reply:well my friend had the same thing... All she tried everything and nothing worked. So what helped her is to use guys deodorant. it last much longer and it smells better and then you don't sweat bad. and if you do.. its just a little nothing really bad.. and you cant smell the BO.. so try guys deodorant..

hope that works...
Reply:I am American, living in a place where it snows no matter what, Alaska. I don't know if in India you guys get deodrent, well if u do, apply it. If u have kidney problems, don't. Deodrent is for applying it under ur arms for a good smell and so it doesn't sweat a lot. If u have any health problems, like kidney stuff or anything, DON'T APPLY IT.

Do normal people (people without diabetes) get hypoglycemic when they miss a meal?

I missed lunch yesterday because I felt like throwing up, and then by the end of the evening I was sweating and had chills and felt like i had the flu sort of. I ate a little something and then woke up early feeling restless and sweating. I notice when I don't eat when I'm hungry, it only takes about a half hour before I get shaky. I feel so bad right now, I don't feel like eating. But seriously, I am sweating.
Do normal people (people without diabetes) get hypoglycemic when they miss a meal?
Yes, you can.

RN
Do normal people (people without diabetes) get hypoglycemic when they miss a meal?
yes starvation does lead to hypoglycemia.
Reply:Oh yea! I get hypoglycemic when I dont eat. Make sure you eat and have snacks inbetween meals.

It will help to regulate that.
Reply:You should consider a physical. Your eating habit are not healthy over the long run.

Find something healthy and munch through the day. But, set a limit on how much for the day.

Best Wishes.
Reply:This would probably normally only make someone feel very hungry. With those symptoms I think it would be wise to tell your Dr. and get your blood sugar checked out. They probably will do a glucose tolerance test. This is where you are given something very sweet to drink after fasting, then they will check your blood sugar level every so often for every couple hours afterwards. If you are hypoglycemic it is best to eat something that is protein and not sugar.
Reply:Yes, people without frank diabetes can have a hypoglycemic reaction as a result of missing a meal.

However, missing one meal should not cause a person with normal glucose metabolism to experience hypoglycemia. If you're definitely ill right now, that could throw your system off a bit. But if you're having these symptoms regularly, you need to reevaluate your eating plan. Try googling hypoglycemic diets, and see if incorporating some of those suggestions helps with your problem. Also, you may want to have bloodwork done to see what your glucose levels ACTUALLY are, and whether your insulin levels are elevated-- hypoglycemia usually results from an excess of insulin, which suggests that you are either insulin resistant or you are producing too much insulin for some other reason. In either case, treatment, or at least a change of diet, may be required.

Does anyone else have a sweat problem?

Help.... I am 31 and 6ft weigh about 13st. I sweat all the time, although not smelly. It could be -20 outside and i still sweat. Anyone got any solutions??
Does anyone else have a sweat problem?
i had this problem when i was at college, it is very embaressing and upsetting. It is very common yet no one talks about it. You do not neccessarily need to visit your doctor. Diet, washing and being healthy dont seem to be anything to do with it so dont worry about that. If you have a boots chemist near you, get down there, they have a special deodorant that you put on at night and it treats the root of the problem (really sorry i cant remember the name - it is common though) or ask anyone at the pharmacy counter if you cant find it. It is uncomfortable whilst its treating you but persevere, its really worth it. I used it a few times (thats all i could manage) but amazing-it has totally fixed the problem, i now own tops with sleeves and the problem, touch wood, has not returned for years. Just wish i could remember the name of it!! They will be well aware of it in boots though, as long as you ask someone with a brain!!
Does anyone else have a sweat problem?
maybe your not healthy. eat balanced foods
Reply:it's called hyperhidrosis. you need to see a doc
Reply:that's very natural, it's extremely hot. Don't try to prevent sweat, it wouldn't be healthy. Drink plenty of water, and take a shower at least once a day.
Reply:The best advice i can give is go talk to your gp- it could be normal for you- or there could b something underlying.
Reply:i don`t have a sweat problem but i think you should eat healthy food and drinks lots of water that will help cool you down.
Reply:I get it too, even when it is freezing cold!

I went to see my doctor and he gave me some cream stuff that you put on when you get out of the shower/bath and are still wet, that helps. If this doesn't work then he may refer you to have laser surgery or botox under your arms as this destroys some of the sweat glands that are causing the problem.

Make sure you go and see your GP though, he will definately be able to help.

Good luck (\ *-* /)

How do i stop sweaty palms?

my palms are sweaty alot and its really annoyin when im holding someones hand and my hands get sweaty, now im afraid to hold hands with anyone at all.

My hands are sweating right now... not as bad but its really moist

i want to know how to make my hands stop sweating

i know you sweat so your body would cool down from the heat
How do i stop sweaty palms?
Sounds like you may have palmar hyperhidrosis (the medical term for excessive sweating of the hands). It is a genetic disorder--so you can thank your parents for this one. About 176 million people have HH, so don't feel all alone. The good news is that there are safe and effective options. Here's what you need to know:

According to the International Hyperhidrosis Society (the world's gurus of sweat at www.SweatHelp.org) you can treat palmar HH by:

1.) *Proper* use of strong anti-perspirants (deodorants just make sweat smell pretty, they don't stop it). Here's how to make APs work their best for you: apply at night before bed; apply to a totally dry skin; use a SOFT SOLID--no matter what brand you like, this form is the most effective. You can apply in the morning again if you want an extra boost.)

2.) Botox (lasts at least 6 months and insurance often pays!)

3.) Iontophoresis (once your doc coaches you, you can do it at home with your own device. Very cool.)

Lots of us use these treatments in combination. It's so important to get with a dermatologist that knows all about these options and you can craft the best treatment plan. The IHHS has a really good physician database that you can use to find a derm near you. Plus while you are there you can read all about the treatment options so you can become a guru too!

OH, if you're a teen, you should totally get the FREE book Teen Sweat 101 from the IHHS. Just send an email to support@SweatHelp.org and they will send the book out right away. This is a great way to learn about the all things sweat.

And while you are at SweatHelp.org, make sure you subscribe to their newsletter. They tell you about new developments in HH so you can be the first in line to get the best in class treatment--sometimes free! Check out their recent article about Secret Clinical Strength, for example.

Good luck!

PS: Don't ever consider ETS surgery because it often causes "comensatory sweating" which is profuse sweating on large areas of the body. In addition, surgery is not reversible--no matter what the doc tells you. Lots of people are upset about their surgery and in some countries it's actually outlawed.
How do i stop sweaty palms?
Clap cornstarch or talcum powder between your palms to soak up the moisture. Or apply a 'palm antiperspirant' on your hand. Additional info on the link below.
Reply:You have hyperhidrosis. I have it too. My hands and feet sweat even when I'm not nervous or warm. My mom has it too. It's because of an overactive sweat gland. You can try electrolysis where you put a small electrical current through your hands. I tried it but I didn't like it very much and didn't notice a huge difference. There's also a surgery you can have done where they clamp a nerve in your chest that will permanently stop the sweating. I plan on having this done someday. I don't know a whole lot about it but you can search online for hyperhidrosis and it will come up. Don't worry too much about it. I always hated it during dates but my boyfriends never were bothered by it once I told them about it. I just rinse my hands a lot, it's all I can do.

My hands sweat alot as well as my arms?

dude i have sum good days but as soon as i think of it my palms sweat so much they drip as well as my arm pitts what can i do against this or will it natrually go away besides what is it any way
My hands sweat alot as well as my arms?
It happens a lot to me too, but only in my palms. It's really weird, it might be because I get nervous really easily. Try relaxing, don't do much exercise, and see if that helps. Make sure you use deodorant. Good luck.

Do dogs sweat?

I was wondering if they sweat, or if they cool down by panting.
Do dogs sweat?
They cool down primarily by panting, as they don't have sweat glands scattered throughout their skin like we do. They DO have sweat glands in their paws, however, and they do sweat through them. (Same for cats.)

Lots of animals sweat. Whoever said that only humans and pigs perspire through their skin has obviously never seen a horse after a good run.

Reply:yes, they do sweat when they stick their tongue out, thats how dogs sweat
Reply:I always found it funny, but yes. They do pant to cool off.
Reply:They cool down by panting. Only humans and pigs cool down by perspiring.
Reply:Both. Let a dog play hard outside in the summer and them feel his coat. It will be wet.
Reply:about everything and everyon doez!
Reply:The only place the sweat is through their paw pads, other than that they pant to coold down.
Reply:Answer Dogs have the ability to sweat, but in places that are a little different from humans. Dogs sweat through their pads and feet. Their skin and armpit areas don't contain sweat glands like ours do. Their main method of ridding themselves from heat, however, is by panting, which is a very different mechanism than what we generally use.

For these reasons, we must take great care to protect our dogs from heat stroke. Dogs with compromised respiration, like bulldogs and pugs, are at a very high risk of easily overheating just because they can't pant very efficiently.

Anything cold..

Participting in sweat lodge?

I am a white non native american from Texas who want to participate in sweat lodge. Can any fill in what and how I can participate in one?
Participting in sweat lodge?
Be weary of any person/group that openly invites you into a lodge, especially those charging money for access, even if those charges are called donations. Sweats should never cost a thing. As a non-native person seeking sweat lodge, you're most likely to come into contact with those selling sweat lodge for a profit. In order for you to not be duped you'd be best to form a relationship with a native person who trusts you enough to invite you in. Most native people do frown upon bringing non-natives into lodge. Some do not. In my experience, those who are open to non-natives are either selling lodge or are thin-bloods whose majority background is non-native anyway so what difference would it make to them to have non-natives sit with them. There are also non-natives who were "taught the ways" who run lodge...what a laugh! Again, be weary. Whether you get in or not, there will be some controversy.
Participting in sweat lodge?
That is difficult. You have to know someone. They just don't sell you a ticket and you're in. Good luck!
Reply:I used to in Oregon. Lakota look down on it but Cherokee will invite you in with open arms.... Be very prepared to be VERY hot!!!
Reply:google it.....put in Texas.

You should be able to get ahold of the ones who do it.

I've done it.....I know it is very good to clean out your pores.

I have never regretted doing it....seems like a part of me is Indian............though it is not listed anywhere in our ancestry.

But it isn't much difference than going to a hotel and sitting 10 minute sessions in a hot tub.
Reply:Hi...there are actually some websites that have sweat information on them...I am Patti, by the way.

I live in Missouri and I pour lodge...have been in many communities in the US...what I know comes from very good teachers whose linage is important to me..having said that let me say this...these ceremonies are hard and not for the faint of heart...they are not to be entered into just because someone is curious. I am going to give you a website and maybe these people can help...My lodge is down for the present time and before Sundance will be re erected.

If you are truely interested drop me a line at Patti_ja@yahoo.com

For those who do not understand...the sweat lodge is not a sauna...it is traditional way to pray for Lakota and a lot of other tribes. It is hotter than a sauna, sometimes...and cooler than a summers breeze, sometimes....and sometimes the stories and songs and rattles wake the spirit in mystical ways.
Reply:Have Native friends who might one day invite you. Though I don't recommend befriending people based on an agenda.
Reply:In reference to the user who posted that "Cherokees will welcome you in with open arms". ... The sweat lodge isn't a part of Cherokee culture. So if Cherokees participate in a sweat lodge it's just because they want to and have been invited in themselves. The only equivilant in Cherokee culture is the asi..which is used to sweat for health reasons, not strictly spiritual.

Do you have the same problem?!!?

My hands often sweat .I have been told it's normal when they sweat in some certain situations . But i think what i am having is not normal because even when i get so much involved in ,for instance, playing any game...my hands start sweating . When i go to a party or something , the same happens because i get nervous. I want to know if there might be a health problem or not.and if there is what is the best way to at least decrease the occurence of this embarrassing thing . Please help.
Do you have the same problem?!!?
pee on your hand every morning... it must be the first pee.... it is gross but hey it works.... and it's cheap
Do you have the same problem?!!?
See your doctor. It may be that this is just what your hands do.....but, if this is something new get it checked out. It is always nice to have an answer to something not understood.

A highschool sweetheart experienced the same. His doctor said it was normal for him, with no further explanation.....

Can't be a nice feeling, though.

Why am I getting Night Sweats?

This started about a month ago, but the last week has been much worse. I've been getting night sweats to the point where it is keeping me up at night, and I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping.

I am a 23 year old female and I take birth control faithfully so it shouldn't be that I'm pregnant. Has anyone else ever had this happen, what are some causes of night sweats?
Why am I getting Night Sweats?
I am 25 and have been getting night sweats for a few years. It is so frustrating since I wake up with my clothes and blankets completely soaked. Mine are brought on by stress and hormones. The links below have some more info on causes but I wouldn't worry about it. It happens to most people some point in their life.
Why am I getting Night Sweats?
You too? I'm 36 and have been having them for the last month or so. I know it's not menapause because you start that about the same time as your mom did. She's in her early 50's and just started it.

Anyway, I sleep with the window wide open and I still get really sweaty. It's aweful! I don't know what to do either. I'm thinking maybe I need to get myself a really thin blanket. I hear silk keeps you cool and warm.

I'm putting this in my watch list. I'm interested to find out about this too!
Reply:Night sweats refer to any excess sweating occurring during the night. However, if your bedroom is unusually hot or you are using too many bedclothes, you may begin to sweat during sleep--and this is normal.

In order to distinguish night sweats that arise from medical causes from those that occur because one鈥檚 surroundings are too warm, doctors generally refer to true night sweats as severe hot flashes occurring at night that can drench sleepwear and sheets, which are not related to an overheated environment.

There are many different causes of night sweats. To determine what is causing night sweats in a particular individual, a doctor must obtain a detailed medical history and order tests to decide if an underlying medical condition is responsible for the night sweats.

What to do when i sweat at school?

AHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!.........it gets SO hot in the school and they don't put on air conditioning and i sweat like a PIGGGG@!!!!!!.....whats do i do.....ohhhhh......and i like this boy and we kinda go out...but i don't want him or anyone to see my HORRIBLE sweat marks!!!!
What to do when i sweat at school?
Erm if your wearing a jumper, Of course take it off.

Bring a bottle of water and spray it on your face

Bring some Deodrant.

Hope I helped/
What to do when i sweat at school?
Carry deoderent and perfume around in your purse.
Reply:change the school! what is that school that do not use AC? my god! change the school, and take that boy with you lol
Reply:There are some products on the market designed for problems like yours. There is a product called perspirex which you apply at night and Wash off in the mornings. My best friend swears buy and would never use normal deodorant again. I think it Can be quite harsh so patch test first.
Reply:Go to Walmart and buy one of those handheld fans to blow your face. They are REALLY quiet so don't worry. You wont disturb your teacher or anything like that! The last thing you want is your make up running! ahhhhhhhH! They are like $1 at good ol' Walmart... oh yeah and carry some water around to keep yourself hydrated. I wouldnt carry perfume around, just deoderant. You don't want to smell like B.O AND PERFUME!!! (not a good mix) Try the fan, it will help A LOT!!!
Reply:I use baby powder on my under arms. That might help. I am not sure but I think they make a pad for under arms. Maybe if you ask at the drug store the druggist could tell you what to get.
Reply:the first thing you need to know is there is a ifference betwwen anitpersperent and deoderent. You need both.. deodorent is exactly what it sounds like it helps with odor and antipersperent helps decrease the sweat. I hope this helps. Second by showering with anti bacterial soap it will help as well. You can also use talcs or powders as well.
Reply:well there are antiperspirants that reduce sweating, but most of all they are very efficient in preventing the smell. Believe me it is a huge discovery. when you feel the wetness just go to the girls room and grab a piece of hanky and wipe the area, it works.
Reply:If you don't want sweat marks, go for anti-perspirant. It blocks your pores so you don't sweat out. Deodorants don't work because it only eliminates the bad odor, it still allows you to sweat. Talcum powder doesn't work either as it only keeps the area dry but it wears off once you sweat and you will still get sweat stains on your clothes. Worse is, powder doesn't eliminate body odor, when you sweat, you smell of a mixture of powder and body odor.

Best is to get a product that says anti perspirant and deodorant.

You can try brands like 'Secret anti perspirant and deodorant' or 'Lady speed stick'.

http://www.health-care-beauty.com/Lady-S...
Reply:By the way you are typing, you do not need a boyfriend. And it's called anti-perspirant
Reply:drinking caffeine doesn't help..so dont drink this before or during school...

drink water... and it also sounds like whatever deodorant ur using isnt working...there is a product "certain dri"...maybe that would work better...i think its stronger than reg deo...or maybe u just need to change to a diff deo?
Reply:You problay need a better deodarant for sweat.
Reply:use an antiperspirant deodorant for your underarms, use baby powder for your feet and body, have shower regularly.
Reply:Dont wear any heavy clothing like big sweatshirts and stuff. I have the same problem, its so annoying! Also, try to wear lighter colors, when you go outside, dark colors attract the sun, and you will get hotter.

Hope this helps!!
Reply:botox your sweat glands

Safe to sweat on a new tattoo?

tattoo is 6 days old and all the scabs have fallen off is it safe to sweat allot on it, i know u want to keep it from drying up so i dont see why not
Safe to sweat on a new tattoo?
It's fine... But if it's not healed all the way it may sting a bit. There's salt in sweat.
Safe to sweat on a new tattoo?
Mine haven't fallen off yet!
Reply:Its safe but you should wash t as soon as possible.
Reply:whenever you sweat you need to wash the tattoo as soon as possible. you aren't supposed to let it dry out but you also need to keep it clean and sweat has a lot of bacteria in it which is NOT keeping it clean. so if you sweat, wash your tattoo asap.
Reply:its safe but have a shower asap after your done sweating and apply whatever the shop gave u to take care of it with.
Reply:Its fine if your sweat, The key thing is to wash it 3-5 times a day when you first get it and keep it moist with non-fragrenced lotion. Dont sweat and have your shirt rub your tattoo tho- that creats a build up of bacteria and prone to infection/ improper healing.

p.s- dont listen to jules (no offense) NEVER use VASALINE
Reply:when i got mine i decided to keep running daily, not just a mile more like 7 a day, so i had quite a bit of sweat. from that is had some color leak out because it wasent exactly setteled yet and the in just come back out, but the tatto looks no different than right after i got it so i would say you are safe, but if you lost some color then you can go back and have it touched up.
Reply:It should be safe. If in doubt, just cover with a thin layer of vaseline, that will keep the sweat out without drying out the tattoo.

Do swimmers sweat?

I wonder is it happenes to swimmers. They work so hard but they are in water already so do they sweat or not?
Do swimmers sweat?
Of course. Yes, we sweat. And we swim in everyone's sweat (plus kids' pee, and everything else you could imagine). That is why there is enough clorine in a pool to kill any germs and virus'. That's why no one was in danger when Greg Luganis, having hit his head during a dive at olympic trials, bled into the water.... he had HIV at the time, and the clorine killed the virus.

and, yes, swimmers will dehydrate, so please, if you swim laps, take a bottle of water with you to keep you from passing out!
Do swimmers sweat?
Yes, but since they are in water you dont notice.
Reply:they do sweat it's just that the sweat is taking off by the water
Reply:Yes. Everybody sweats in your skin there's a gland called the Sweat Gland which makes people sweat it's just harder to notice.
Reply:Swimmers sweat quite a bit. It's not noticable since they're in the water, but if you ask competitive swimmers, thry'll tell you that they are as likely to dehydrate as any other athlete.
Reply:Yes-it goes in the water--the only way you can tell a swimmer is working is by the color of their face and their hr.
Reply:Yes, but the water acts as natural sweat, cooling the swimmer, so only if they work for a long period of time at high temperatures/intensities will it become noticeable.
Reply:Yes they do sweat in the water. That is one reason why swimmers have to be careful to remain hydrated because they don't feel like they sweat, but they still do.
Reply:yes

I get really nervous what can doctors do for me? I have .25mg Xanax but...?

I went to the doctors about a few problems i've been having with nervousness sweating and a sinus infection, i was prescribed a few thing including Xanax .25mg i don't get to talk to my doctor for another 2 weeks, my question is, is the Xanax supposed to help me deal with nervousness or sweating because i have been taking it as directed for a week and haven't noticed any change, im still getting nervous and sweating
I get really nervous what can doctors do for me? I have .25mg Xanax but...?
It's suppose to help you with your nervousness. I believe it takes a bit to get into your system so give it time. If it doesn't get any better by the time you see your doctor again ask about increasing your dosage.
I get really nervous what can doctors do for me? I have .25mg Xanax but...?
It takes some medications a while to start seeing benefits. If you did not get your medication from a psychiatrist-go see one! Sorry Primary Care Physicians out there, but a PCP trying to "help" my daughter did not give her the right medication while in college %26amp; she ended up being admitted to the hospital for serious emotional issues. The admitting psychiatrist kept asking, "Exactly who was it that prescriped this medication for you" Once on the right medication %26amp; therapy she now has her masters degree. P.S. Xanax treats your anxiety. Good luck.
Reply:Xanax is a powerful tranquilizer that belongs to a family of drugs called benzodiazepines: valium, librium, etc.

They should act very quickly but they can become very addictive if you take them too long.

My doctor put me on what is called an SSRI (selective seratonin reuptake inhibitor) and it works very well at controlling my nervousness. I had taken a benzo beforehand; Xanax was one of the ones I took.

You might want to see your doctor again or find another doctor.

What animal sweats?

I want to know what animal sweats for research. I would love any answer.
What animal sweats?
Most mammals have sweat glands in their skins. However, only few animals actually sweat. Also, most animals sweat not mainly as a response to a rise in temperature in normal circumstances. Many animals sweat in response to pain and distress as well.

PRIMATES and HORSES have armpits that sweat similarly to those of humans. HORSES have the highest sweat rate of.

Sweating in horses can be as a thermoregulation,as a result of exercise and can be due to a rise in adrenalin in their blood.

DOGS and similar creatures have sweat glands in their mouth and pad of their paws. Sweating in their mouth and the rapid exchange of air in panting provides them with sufficient evaporative cooling.

KANGAROOS being adapted to living in the heat sweat while moving and pant as soon as exercise stops.

CATTLES have high sweat rate mostly sweat through their noses.

CATS have sweat glands in their skin and in the pads of their feet which help regulate the body temperature. The water on their fur will cool down their bodies. They lick their paws bottoms and their chests to cool down.

MICE have sweat glands on their feet and they sweat. RABBITS have sweat glands around their lips and the moisture often seen is actually their sweat. SHEEP also sweat.

%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt;PIGS have non-functional sweat glands.

%26gt;Dolphins do not sweat.

%26gt;Hippos do not sweat. The pink secretion from their skin is actually a kind of MUCUS.
What animal sweats?
Dog`s sweat out their mouth that`s why they pant when it`s hot outside.
Reply:just about all mammals with some exceptions like a pig

you should have asked which animals do not sweat

reptiles are amongst those, and things like frogs

Reply:PIGS!
Reply:Dogs and cats both have sweat glands on their feet. Most dogs cool themselves via panting. Pigs do not sweat, and need mud baths to regulate their temps. Hope this helps.
Reply:even some marine mammals sweat.
Reply:horses do
Reply:Hippos. Their sweat is pink!

Has anyone ever used maxim to treat hyperhidrosis?

my entire family has suffered with hyperhidrosis and i am on medication that has a side effect of sweating so its even worse for me! i cant wear any shirts besides white ones and even then you can tell on some. there is no odor at all just sweat! a friend of mine was talking about maxim and gave me the website to look it up to read about it. of course all the testimony's there make it sound wonderful. ive used lots off different kinds of anitperspirants and nothing works.. i just find it hard to believe that this one will be the miracle stick that ive been looking for! ive also read that people dont use it every day... so does that mean that you can use regular stuff on the other days? has anyone ever used it and successfully stopped sweating? please please help.. or give me any tips that could help me... thanks so much.. (secret platinum and clinical strenght hasnt worked for me either... just so you dont suggest those lol) thanks again!
Has anyone ever used maxim to treat hyperhidrosis?
Maxim does work pretty well, but irritation can occur.

If you've used drysol then you know that with continued use, a rash can break out.

However, I can't disqualify Maxim's benefits. They have a ton of product varieties including facial wipes that work wonderfully on facial sweating.

Talcum powder, cornstarch, baking soda

Anything cold..
Reply:talc power is good for sweaty hands but i'm not sure about other parts of the body. Washing your armpits with soap will make them smell, ok if you need to shave them, but mostly just give a good rinse under the shower.
Reply:Air Conditioning
Reply:Corn starch.... very good.
Reply:Any kind of powder, from flower to baby powder. As long as there is something that will stick and absorb moisture, you should be OK. As to the stains on the shirt you'll be wearing, you're on your own there.

Reply:yes

Why does sweat produce dirt on your body?

When you play basketball or any other sport and you start to sweat and when it dries up, you can rub your head and dirt will come off.
Why does sweat produce dirt on your body?
its water and ur hands r dirty
Why does sweat produce dirt on your body?
No your just DIRTY sweat is actually a natural thing for your body. It whats inside your body that makes it stink. And whats outside that makes it dirty..

Your just dirty sweetie.
Reply:Sweat doesn't produce dirt. There are all kinds of dirt and dust particles floating around in the air along with air pollution. When you sweat and your skin becomes damp, those tiny "dirt" particles stick to your skin.
Reply:it doesnt make you dirty it just helps dirt to stick to you
Reply:The sweat is loosening any dirt that was on your body, or collecting the dirt swirling around you in the air. As you cool down and the sweat dries you notice that it's time to hit the shower.
Reply:That's gross. But it's true, not that dirt is coming out of your skin with the sweat, but that the sweat acts as an adhesive for dust and dirt and all that jazz.

Can you help me to correct my grammer and sentences structuers?

I remember last year during the summer holiday, when during vacation, I worked with my dad. My job was to clean up one part of the freight house. It was the most difficult task I had ever performed. The part that I had to clean up was not big, but I had no idea where to start 鈥?I could barely move through the clutter! The dust on the documents was extremely thick, so I had to wear a mask when I was cleaning up. I use vacuum to clean up the dust. When I started the vacuum, the dust were flying every where, because the back side of the vacuum is the exhaust, and it face to the floor. It blow to the dust, I can鈥檛 believe that happened. I felt I was in a smoking room, I try to turn off the vacuum, but I can鈥檛 saw my hand, because the dust were blocking the view, it likes you are in a cloud. So I stop moving, I wait the dust arrest. After that, I walk out the freight house, my white t-shirt was gray, my sweats on my face were stick with dust and I have a gray color of hair. Suddenly I have a good idea come out, I went to rest room to get a wet towel, and wet towel is the best way to clean up the dust. Then I walk back, and keep going to finish my job. However, the worst thing was not the dust, but actually the weather. There was no air conditioning in the freight house and my body was sweating; my shirt and my jeans were drenched with sweat, but I continued on with my task despite how dehydrated I felt.
