Really, REALLY stupid question....how do you use/put on deodorant?

I always put on deodorant right after a shower... is that the right time to put on deodorant or are you only supposed to put it on when you are sweating? And does shaving your armpits also help decrease the wetness. I have to ask this question because whenever I wear clothes that hug my skin I sweat (really bad). When I wear bigger t-shirts I hardly sweat! Why?!?!?! Does this only happen to me?!?! :( What am I doing wrong?

When it dought, use it! Keep a deoderent in your pocket book or school bag to always have with you. I like the clear kind so my cloths won't show it.

are you serious?
Reply:put deoderent on when ever, i put it on when i leave the house and when i get dressed, idk about the shaving thing though.
Reply:I have the same issue sometimes. Some people just have more overactive sweat glands. There is a deodorant called certain dri I have used a few times. You put it on at night before bed and it seriously stops all your sweat the next day. It burns pretty bad the first couple times you use it though, so don't shave right before.
Reply:I sweat a lot even with loose shirts.

Sometimes I find shaving helps because the sweat doesn't have any hair to linger to.

But what I do is put on an antipersperant((decreases sweating))/deodorant((decreases odor)) after a shower at night to let it sink into my skin, then put on more in the morning.
Reply:lol. this sort of made me laugh =D

but i always put deodorant right after the shower too. %26amp; i don't sweat very much unless i'm doing a lot of activity. but i used to sweat a lot, when i used to use this other kind of deodorant [i can't really remember the name]. but now i use Ban, Suave[the blue bottle that says 24 hour protection, invisible solid], %26amp; Secret Platinum they all work really well.

hope this helps!
Reply:Oh I'm like that too. It's so embarassing....Whenever you wear tight clothes whether its hot or cold outside you sweat right? It has nothing to do with the way you put deodorant on (supposed to put it on after a shower)

I was like that so i went to the dermatologist and he prescribed be this super good deo. I don't sweat anymore!

Go see your dermatologist
Reply:Cover your pits after you take a shower!
Reply:Its becuase when you wear baggier shirts your armpits have more room to breathe. YOu should put it on after showering or before doing any activities, you should also try the clinical stregth deodorants that they have out ther now. Look on the back of your deodorant and it will tell you a percentage of how much anti persperent is in it. THe most you can get is 20% so look for that.
Reply:shaving helps control the sweat and the amt of bacteria that live in your armpit

sweat is not what smells bad it's the bacteria that live in your armpits and "eat" sweat that makes it smell bad

your skin is suppose to be dry

after you shower and dry

put on your bra and shirt

then put it on
Reply:Deodorant doesn't stop wetness. It deodorizes perspiration.

An anti-perspirant stops most wetness for most people, and it deodorizes the sweat that it doesn't stop.

So, if you want to stop wetness, you need to use the right thing. On top of that, you should apply it after your shower on dry skin. The way it works is that it actually plugs/seals the pores that contain your underarm sweat glands. So if the skin is wet or damp, the application is less effective. If needed, use your hair dryer to dry your underarm area thoroughly, then apply a nice, thick coating of antiperspirant, and after about 10 minutes or, so wipe gently with a tissue, to remove the worst of the excess. Don't rub it all off, though.

You probably perspire the same, regardless of what you wear, but you notice it when you wear tighter fitting clothes, because you see it on your clothes, the clothes are wet against your skin, etc.

Shaving under your arms doesn't make you perspire less. It gives you a smoother surface on which to apply the product, which makes it more effective; conversely, a ball of hair under your arm holds wetness.
Reply:Its best to apply deodorant after a shower when the skin is dry, otherwise if your armpits are still wet, it will be diluted from the moisture.

Certain materials and fabrics can also cause undo sweating too and choosing a deodorant makes a whole difference as well. If you are using just a plain deodorant they only work half as well as an anti perspirant deodorant combo, these types work much better in providing wetness protection from sweating, switch to the anti perspirant deodorant and you will notice a big difference.
Reply:Yeah, after a shower, but after sweating is pointless because the deo won't hide the smell. And shaving has nothing to do with it. And for the tight clothes, loose clothes are more away from the body so the sweat doesn't show.
Reply:Just put it on daily woman!!
Reply:because when you wear tight clothes it gets hotter. i always put it on after the shower. i use the gel because the it doesn't stain

hope i could care
