My head sweat too much, and i got a serious dandruff problem?

I want to know what's wrong with my body: My head sweat too much, and i got a serious dandruff problem, and my skin of nose and ears peels off like dandruff sometimes. And a while ago, doctor gave me medicine for curing dandruff to cure the red dots on my lower body. Anyone knows what kind of disease is it?
My head sweat too much, and i got a serious dandruff problem?
could be psoriasis (pronounced: sore eye asses)

"Psoriasis is an inflammatory skin condition. There are five types, each with unique signs and symptoms. Between 10% and 30% of people who develop psoriasis get a related form of arthritis called “psoriatic arthritis,” which causes inflammation of the joints."

a bit more info

" Plaque psoriasis is the most common type of psoriasis. About 80% of people who develop psoriasis have plaque psoriasis, which appears as patches of raised, reddish skin covered by silvery-white scale. These patches, or plaques, frequently form on the elbows, knees, lower back,

and scalp. However, the plaques can occur anywhere on the body.

The other types are guttate psoriasis (small, red spots on the skin),

pustular psoriasis (white pustules surrounded by red skin), inverse psoriasis (smooth, red lesions form in skin folds), and erythrodermic psoriasis (widespread redness, severe itching, and pain)"

good luck.. I hope this will help you get the proper help you need. since you may not be able to cure it...but may be able to treat the symptoms and alleviate your discomfort.

How can i produce less sweat?? Not just the armpits?

When i play sports, i literally drip sweat from everywhere, and my clothes come home soaking wet! How can I change my diet or something so I can produce less sweat? I mean I am not fat or anything..
How can i produce less sweat?? Not just the armpits?
I feel you sister. I have the same problem. Unfortunately, there is not really anything you can do about it. Some people just have different set points at which they start sweating. Your body is just more suited to colder weather, rather than hot. You don't want to stop yourself from sweating, even if you could, because then you would be in danger of becoming hyperthermic. Better to be wet than dead.
How can i produce less sweat?? Not just the armpits?
Why? Sweating is the body's way of cooling you off...it is healthy...when people don't sweat efficiently, they get sick...
Reply:I'm the same as you and I just live with it...there's nothing I've found yet that makes you not sweat. It's healthy!

Do swimmers sweat?

I wonder is it happenes to swimmers. They work so hard but they are in water already so do they sweat or not?
Do swimmers sweat?
Of course. Yes, we sweat. And we swim in everyone's sweat (plus kids' pee, and everything else you could imagine). That is why there is enough clorine in a pool to kill any germs and virus'. That's why no one was in danger when Greg Luganis, having hit his head during a dive at olympic trials, bled into the water.... he had HIV at the time, and the clorine killed the virus.

and, yes, swimmers will dehydrate, so please, if you swim laps, take a bottle of water with you to keep you from passing out!
Do swimmers sweat?
Yes, but since they are in water you dont notice.
Reply:they do sweat it's just that the sweat is taking off by the water
Reply:Yes. Everybody sweats in your skin there's a gland called the Sweat Gland which makes people sweat it's just harder to notice.
Reply:Swimmers sweat quite a bit. It's not noticable since they're in the water, but if you ask competitive swimmers, thry'll tell you that they are as likely to dehydrate as any other athlete.
Reply:Yes-it goes in the water--the only way you can tell a swimmer is working is by the color of their face and their hr.
Reply:Yes, but the water acts as natural sweat, cooling the swimmer, so only if they work for a long period of time at high temperatures/intensities will it become noticeable.
Reply:Yes they do sweat in the water. That is one reason why swimmers have to be careful to remain hydrated because they don't feel like they sweat, but they still do.
Reply:yes

What should i do with....?
Go back to the doctor. Sometimes it takes persistence to get the results we need. The doctor's have to start with something and if that doesn't work you have to let them know so they can try something else. Sometimes it takes trying two or three things or more to make any progress.
Reply:There is a product called Drysol sold in Canada in the Pharmacy for those with hyperhydrosis (excessive sweating) it's usually used for the arm pits, but I beleive you can use them for your hands, and you only need to use it every couple of days. If you live in the Us I there is probably something similar to this but i am unsure of what the name is, but either way just go to your local pharmacy and check it out....

and botox is never permanent and is expensive and who wants needles in the palms of their hands???

How does sweat cool u off?

how does body sweat cool u off
How does sweat cool u off?
You start with sweat and you both at some temperature, when you're finished the sweat is now vapor, so it must have absorbed heat, that leaves you as providing heat and thus cooler.

Or you start with a bunch of sweat molecules, some are very hot and become vapor. That reduces the average energy of the remaining ones (shipping A students away reduces the remaining class average) which will cool you off.
How does sweat cool u off?
the sweat allows your warm skin to heat the sweat and evaporate, resulting in a cooling effect

heat is transfered from the skin to the beads of sweat
Reply:water in sweat evporates; evaporation is a cooling process; you can run under a sprinkler and then dry off and the effect will be the same...cooler skin/body temperature.

Plz oh plz help me!!!!!! life ruining at 12 years old?
Each time you sweat, wash it %26amp; put this ANTISEPTIC TALC POWDER (menthol) regularly afterwards! In between, you should powder your armpit continuously (after the powder is gone). Do not use Deo stick or parfum, it's just make it worse!!

Shower at least once a day, 2-3 times a day if it's hot day %26amp; drink a lot of green tea, it can eliminate the body odour. Always wear clean cloth!

I think you should follow the doctor advise!

Keep your head up! This is treatable!

Reply:...if physical treatment doesn't work, try tricking your own brain. i'm not sure of a way to do that...oh! you could make yourself really, really, really cold. then your body will stop sweating! ...no, that won't work, because that will make your body hate warmth even more. oh! make yourself really, really, really, steaming hot. when your body steps into normal temperature, it will be cooler, so you'll stop sweating...right?

Reply:There's drama in Middle School.....wait what is drama!?
Reply:your doctor should have given you a prescription for anti-perspirant. if worse come to worse, you can have surgery to have your sweat glands removed. have a parent take you back to the doctor
Reply:well wear skimpy closth, boys will like you if you look attractive. sweety or not. shave your underarms and stuff like that try everything to look good and tell people that you have a problem like that most will understand. the doctor should be able to provide you with something. either that or move to Alaska.

O and try not to eat pork, pork is one of the reasons you smell when you sweat there.
Reply:i can understand what you mean, trust me. i have one thing to tell you though dont freak out ... ITS CALLED PUBERTY!!! ur just growing up it will go away soon dont worry
Reply:Try take a bath/shower every evening, then dry yourself well and then apply puff of baby power, change into clean t shirt. Turn on the music, read a book etc. to relax into the night.

If you need to go out, pull some antiperspirant on (not deodorant).

Wish you well.

Is true that Asian girls sweat a lot?

I know some asian singers (girls) and they always sweat a lot in their concerts (Boa Kwon, for example). They sweat much more than occidental girls, not only in concerts. Working out too.

I told to another boy and he confirmed I was right.

Sorry for my bad English ;)
Is true that Asian girls sweat a lot?
i don't know, but what i know is"once you you asian you never go black"
Is true that Asian girls sweat a lot?
It's only natural to sweat when when doing anything physical. Everyone sweats!
Reply:I think that statement is untrue. They probably sweat a lot because they don't work out regularly. It probably doesn't take much for their heart rates to increase because they don't have a strong cardio system. Sorta like when overweight people have a tough time going up stairs and start to sweat and breath hard on the second floor because they aren't use to the movement.
Reply:Is it true that Asian boys drive Honda Civics with primer gray fenders, a large wing on the trunk, and a loud fart-can exhaust?

(If you solve this riddle, you will find the answer to your question)
Reply:No, Asians don't sweat more than other people.
Reply:Just about any star sweats in concerts. Everyone sweats on different levels no matter what race or gender.

In any case, I'm asian, and when I work out, I don't pour nearly as much sweat as the men do. As far as the women, I think I sweat an equal amount or less. It also depends on the degree of stress in my workout.

To say that asian people don't exercise or are not used to cardiovascular activity is a generalization. We are as active or unactive as any race is.

Jim Bob, we call those kind of Asians (and white guys too) "Ricers". They are annoying.
Reply:AM NOT Asian..but everyone sweats!!!! who told you that??
Reply:My wife and step-son are Chinese. I sweat more than both of them put together.
Reply:Unless she is "a brown pig "or "a pink pig', she would not sweat lots.

p.s.: a brown pig is latino woman, a pink pig is white pink woman.

Does running when it鈥檚 hotter burn more calories?

By noon time it gets here to about 88 F, and like 80% humidity. I can handle the heat, it just makes my run harder and I sweat more. I usually run in the mornings or after 10 pm when it鈥檚 cooler- 75-80 F, but I see people cycling/running/walking at the dog hot hours.

I am aware to the dangers of dehydration and so on, but apart from the liquid loss, do you burn more calories when it鈥檚 hotter? Significantly?

You sweat more, and when you鈥檙e sweating you lose salt, sugar etc, and it also forces your body to work harder for energy, so it uses more calories. And your heart has to do extra work to prevent you from overheating. Or am I incorrect?
Does running when it鈥檚 hotter burn more calories?
im not sure about the calorie output and weight loss but i know it helps ur muscles stretch and helps rpevent hurting urself..i did hot yoga which means they crank the thermostat up in an already hot room and ur sweat like theres no tomorrow...i felt better despite being totally soaked after an hour and i felt more limber and flexible but i didnt notice any difference in my weight..it has its health benefits cuz it keeps u stretched but as long as ur careful not to get dehydrated and hopefully ur using sunscreen then i think ur all set
Does running when it鈥檚 hotter burn more calories?
you don't lose sugar thru sweat. You do lose water and some salts. No running when it is hot does not burn any more calories, it just increases your risk for dehydration and then later water retention.

"Only mad dogs and British go out in the noon day sun.." is an old old quote, but it is really quite true in it's intent, there is a reason to avoid exertion during the hottest part of the day.

Can you sweat easily in dry desert heat?

I have this impression that when its hot and dry in the desert its hard to break out a sweat even if its 100 degrees. is that true?
Can you sweat easily in dry desert heat?
I lived in Az. for 32 years and didn't sweat until I moved to Mississippi.
Can you sweat easily in dry desert heat?
You know I thought that too! Because it's not really humid at all? But surprisingly you can sweat hardcore with that sun beating down on you.
Reply:When I hitch-hiked across the desert,I wore long-sleeves to hold in the moisture, because the desert will dehyerate you.
Reply:Um, yes. Lots of sweat. Heat is heat, even with not as much humidity. It may evaporate off the skin faster but there is still plenty of sweating happening--even below 100 (I know this because it is 97 outside right now and I came in sweaty from the car).
Reply:You can sweat in dry heat but you do feel more comfortable because the sweat evaporates quicker. I live in Northeast Ohio and we usually have periods of temperatures in the high 90's with high humidity. I have visited Arizona in the summer and felt more comfortable even though the temperatures were nearing 120.
Reply:I certainly do.
Reply:In the summer time it feels like being in an oven when its 120 degrees. Id rather be in AZ in the summer than in Alaska in the winter.
Reply:Yes, but not as much as in the south or Midwest....100 degrees shmundred degrees, that's a fall day here!

I am freezing and completely exhausted!?

even after a 30 minutes jazz duet class with my best friend I am freezing, while still wearing a sweatshirt and she's in a tanktop and shorts and sweating. Even my teacher's sweating and she's not dancing that much. I am also sweating, but I am really cold. I used to get hot from dancing, but for the past couple of weeks I have been freezing. I am also exhausted and even when I get up onto my bunk bed I am completely out of breath. Is there anything wrong with me?
I am freezing and completely exhausted!?
You got some kind of viro infection go to a doctor and get antibiotic.
I am freezing and completely exhausted!?
It doesn't sound like a viro infection. Geez....

You might consider getting your thyroid tested. That is a sign of low thyroid. There are many other causes of feeling cold all the time. This could be from anemia or circulatory problems related to diabetes, high cholesterol or many various other disorders. You should see your family doctor for a routine check up and labwork to know for sure!
Reply:I had similar symptoms - body thermoregulation and fatigue.

These can be caused by undiagnosed food intolerances or heavy metal poisoning. The two are not necessarily unrelated.

I had severe hyperhidrosis along with arhhythmia, migraines and muscle twitching. I went through all the regular treatments including robinul, klonopin, drysol, and finally ETS surgery. After 2-3 years the hyperhidrosis and Raynaud's syndrome began to return.

My symptoms were caused by mercury toxicity from old fillings, which led to wheat and dairy intolerance (gluten and casein). After eliminating grains and dairy from my diet, the symptoms have gone away. I had all fillings replaced with composite material, and have been taking supplements for B vitamins, minerals (magnesium, zinc, etc.) and probiotics.

If you search, there are several sources which mention hyperhidrosis as a symptom of mercury poisoning. This can be related to wheat and dairy intolerance because mercury inhibits DPP-IV, the main enzyme needed to digest these foods.

Heavy metals don't show up on regular tests until it is provoked out of the body with a chelating agent. I wasted money on one blood test before finding another doctor who did a urine test properly.

Why night sweats with hormone problems?

I am 35 , and have had a full hysterectomy, I am experimenting with herbal hormones , I want to know why I have more night sweats than hot flashes during the day.
Why night sweats with hormone problems?
In order to answer this question accordingly I need to ask which types of herbals or you experimenting with? I take Discorea root (wild yam) to supplement my lack of progesterone which exacerbates in fluctuation of estrogen and testosterone levels keeping an ovarian cyst from disappearing altogether. It will never completely dissolve and I have avoided, gracefully under pressure and pain, surgical removal of the affected parts by treating my symptomology with herbals and homeopathic alternative methods such as aromatherapy, hydrotherapy, Reiki and meditation. Would like to hear updates on how you are doing and hope I have helped some.

sharing the light,

erica
Why night sweats with hormone problems?
Have a hormone panel. Which are missing or in either too great or too low doses. Not familiar w/ ingredients in Estroven P.M. Essentail active ingredients derived from roots? If so, which ones. Glad to hear you are off Premarin, heard it causes premature uterine bleeding %26amp; hurts like hell Report It

Reply:Some people never have hot flashes while others have tons and some never have night sweats while other have them a lot. There is no specific cause for this, I had night sweats for a couple years but literally no hot flashes. I would get a bit warm once in a great while but not super hot flash where I felt I wanted to jump out of my clothes.
Reply:Early menopause as a result of the hysterectomy and hormonal difficulties. Ask your doc for something that might help. If you don't like what he/she has to say, why not consult an alternative medicine doc. They could provide you with efficacy information and accurate dosing information regarding any herbs or vitamins that might be helpful.

In terms of why more night sweats than hot flashes during the day?? Individual variability.
Reply:early menopause is causing a system imbalance.....just cope, it will go away...hormones and pseudo herbal remedies are dangerous......
Reply:Certainly, have a complete hysterectomy pushes you into menopause. There is no one answer for you question, it is the way your body is reacting to the loss of hormones produces by your reproductive system.

I remember being in Mexico %26amp; Hawaii because of the heat %26amp; humidity, I didn't experience any hot flashes or night sweats. :)

you put it on at night. if you put it on during the day, it will not work. but it is great...

ive tried every deodorant out there.....this is the only one that works
Reply:I am the same age had/have the same problem. I tried pretty much every deodorant/antiperspirants and finally my friend found certain dry and told me to try it. I've noticed that it has helped a lot. Just make sure that you follow the directions. If you forget to put it on one night you're fine... it works for 72 hours!

It works while you sleep, so you put it on at night and while you sleep it shrinks the pores. It's amazing. Try it!

IF u sweat is there?

a chance that the sweat will go back into ur body
IF u sweat is there?
If you drink it!!Gross!!
IF u sweat is there?
Nope. Sweat isn't absorbed. When you go swimming it not like you absorb the water from the pool. It's the same type of thing.

Does any body know what to take for the menopause without resorting to pills from the doctor. Also?

is excessive sweating whilst only doing the housework, hoovering etc part of the menopause?, i have heard people sweat at night but most days i really don't have to work hard in the home before i am dripping in sweat. please help if poss.
Does any body know what to take for the menopause without resorting to pills from the doctor. Also?
The trouble with herbal alternatives such as plant oestrogens is that no one knows what the long term implications of using them are, the studies are just not being done. It has taken more than 20 years of studies into the long term effects of conventional HRT, and doctors are even now not totally sure of how the risk benefits stack up.

Homeopathic preparations are of course useless, since none of them have effects beyond placebo.

Perhaps there is still an argument for conventional therapy as it can at least be said it is the devil we know.
Does any body know what to take for the menopause without resorting to pills from the doctor. Also?
There is actually a pharmacy company that specializes in this. They take blood samples and work with you to naturally re-balance your hormones. All you have to do is get a referral from your doctor or gyn and they can give you the contact info to one in your area.
Reply:try wearing cotton clothing

drink plenty of fluids

try using some black ghosh or some evening primrose
Reply:My mum used to have HRT but now swears by Red Clover instead. You can get it from Boots, it isn't all that cheap, but it works and its natural, it is specifically for the menopause. She and many of her friends and family use it, she says it beats HRT hands down.
Reply:I recommend re-posting this question under "Health -- Alternative Medicine". You'll probably get a wider variety of good answers than under "General -- Diseases and Conditions."

Good luck!

hope this helps, as i know exactly what you're going thru. best of luck.
Reply:I think that the Dr. is wrong to say homeopathic medicine doesn't work when there is tons of research out there that says otherwise. It is doctors like him that over prescribe meds and under treat the source of the illness that cause people like you and me to suffer all our lives when there ARE remedies out there. Especially when clinical trials are only done for 10 years before being bought to market,. Look at how many meds have been recalled.

I use all natural mangosteen juice that has tons of research on the Xanthones that are found in its makeup. (Google it) Because it is organic like us there are no side effects. Plus The people of southeast Asia have been using this fruit for over 2000 years -plenty of clinical trial and error time. Check out these links for yourself. God Bless!

Take a shower using Irish spring, then rinse, pour some white vinegar onto a wash cloth and wash again. this will cut the smell for sure. also you can pour it on your t-shirts it will help to lighten the stain but not remove it. I use the vinegar everyday and I promise it will help. Also make sure you get a deodorant/anti-precipitant like Right Guard and use the spray rather than the roll on.
Reply:ei.. i used to have a problem like yours. i asked my derma about it and she told me to buy a driclor in any drugstore. And it worked.=)
Reply:ya u need to use aluminium based deodorants, high strength stuff only available from pharmacies usually. get a doctor's approval though. If you haven't got medically bad sweat problem and if you live in UK, Mitchums deodorant is brilliant, i started using it abt 6 months ago, and man it keeps the sweat away!
Reply:go to a dermatologist
Reply:Wash daily in the morning, and avoid efforts that make you sweat . use deo roll-on in place of sprays do not try to stop sweating because this is natural . If your sweat smells, reduce peppers , mustard and similar food.
Reply:try using medical spirit instead of deodorants.it realy works!
Reply:The best is to wash your underarms, as often as you can, with cold water, without soap. After a while will be enough only in the morning. Also if you sweat to much you need to eat salty because otherwise you will lost the water from your tissues and no mater how much you'll drink you'll sweat it out. You can massage the reflex points for the underarm lymphatic glandes, which are on the exterior of each foot, after the second joint from the tip of your little toe towards the heel. You can put some vinegar in the water. A good deodorant don't fill your pores, only kill the bacteria which cause the bad smell. And last but not least wear only cotton, natural silk, linen or wool clothes.

Hot weather=sweat. Help!?

Ok so where i live its really really hot! My deoderant works really good and all but i still sweat on my back and on the back of my neck. Is it weird to put a little deoderant on my back and the back of my neck? I know that no one would be able to tell but still is it really weird?
Hot weather=sweat. Help!?
I guess it's not weird. I mean it's not like you're going to be like hey i have deodorant on my back look!!
Hot weather=sweat. Help!?
I wouldnt say it's weird, if it makes you feel more comfortable then go ahead and do it. No one will know one way or the other and you will probably feel better socially without the sweat. I wouldnt recommend to do this too frequently though. I too live in a very hot, humid climate (south Florida) and the sweat is there for a reason and clogging your pores with the deodorant may cause you to break out if you aren't careful.
Reply:You could also try a little baby powder! Deoderant on your back-how do you pull that off? I am having hot flashes on top of this heat, I will try the deoderant but nothing helps with the hot flashes! Good luck!

i don't know if that would be the best idea. it says on the label of all deoderant to "apply to underarms only" But i guess it wouldn't really be weird. I live in phoenix and it's insanely hot over here, I feel your pain!
Hot weather=sweat. Help!?
You can always layer shirts, so that only one shirt will get all sweaty. Or you can change shirts regularly. Or you can bring a small washcloth. You can put it in your purse. Then once in a while, use the restroom and wipe your sweat off:)
Reply:have you thought about dusting some deorderant powder all over yourself after you shower or bathe? there a ton out there + a lot that have matching perfumes or colognes. powders are nice and cool ... just a suggestion ...

My father sweats really fast, help?

He claims that he works outside (we are in California) in the garden for a couple of minutes and he already sweats a lot. Is this normal? What can he do? Is it a problem?
My father sweats really fast, help?
It would depend on which area on his body is perspiring. Some times, aside from obesity, naturally overactive sweat glands can cause a person to perspire. Its known as hyperhidrosis and does not affect many people. What he can do is get some drying solution or talcum powder to stop the excessive sweating. However, it does not work for severe sweating. In such cases, Botox or an operation to remove sweat glands may help.

It is not a serious or health-threatening physical problem. People who have this medical condition usually face embarrassment and can even suffer from severe depression and low-esteem. However, your father would not have physical problems, unless it is a side-effect that is triggered by other undetected problems like heart problems, and he should get a checkup in case.

Good health to you and your father!
My father sweats really fast, help?
Sweating too much over a short period of time can be from certain medications, being overweight, a heart problem, etc.

Best to tell him to see a doctor.

Does this sweat shirt look used?

i got this sweat shirt at a second hand store. its from hollister. it say California, and 1922, and also has a white hollister bird on it. (but the holliester bird and 1922 dont show in the picture becuase the 1922 is threaded in and the bird is really light) the bird is really faded, you can kind of see it if you adjust the brightness of the picture. my quesetion is does this sweatshirt scream second hand because the bird is faded or is the bird meant to be that way.

Sooo annoying?

Sooo annoying?
bottox :)
Reply:Either your school has no air conditioning, or you are nervous about school dances. Calm down and think about the positive side. Dances are usually fun, so why not have fun as well. Take your mind off the negatives, and you'll be fine.

Periods and Sweats?

on the first day of my period I have horrible cramps. So i take some tylenol, and rest. But today for the first time, I had a horrible stomachache and felt like i could throw up. When i got in the bathroom, i started to get really hot and sweaty. And I felt like I could pass out. When i couldnt take it anymore, i went to my living room and THEN i got chills. After resting, i felt much better and took a nap. I felt like a new person.

Has anyone else experienced this, or is it just a flukey thing?

Keep in mind, Im 15 years old, and this has happened just once with the sweats and chills.

And please save the wise ***, pervert comments.

My partner sweat s alot when he sleeps it minging help?

jwe have looket in to botox but that will only stop his under arms but it is his full body that sweats and the bed get all wet and puts a damper on uther thing please help
My partner sweat s alot when he sleeps it minging help?
has he seen a doctor to make sure that this is not related to a medical condition? if he only sweats at night it can be a sign of a more serious problem. get him checked out by a doc and ask the doc for some answers.
My partner sweat s alot when he sleeps it minging help?
See a specialist.
Reply:Does he sleep naked? If so make him wear some thin cotton pyjamas or something lol.
Reply:lmao you poor woman, lmao ,,,ok.,.,,.if he is overweight, get him to slim,,,,,possibly he has a high salt intake?or get him naked,,,,or wear cotton (pure) or get thin blankets.if all that fails id see the doc! good luck! hope he doesnt pong lol
Reply:Make him sleep on those absorbant mats used for bedwetters. It will save your mattress, just put it under sheet so its not umcomfortable for him. As for protecting you, ive no idea. Also use fans on his side.
Reply:Sweating is natural and necessary. Sweat does not smell. Stale sweat plus heat plus bacteria smells.

He should keep himself clean. Reduce the weight of bedclothes, no heavy quilt, and turn the heating off.
Reply:Emigrate to Alaska - Eskimo Nell
Reply:get a fan in your room
Reply:Thes best thing to do would be for him to see his GP. I'm sure there is something that can help. He shouldn't be embaressed either, Dr's have seen it all! Good luck
Reply:Less booze, less coffee, less stress!

One, or all, of those.
Reply:the disorder is called hyper hydrosis (i have it) you can get a prescritption from the doctor for medication to apply to lessen mild symptoms, but if they r severe (such as ur partner's) then he should get surgery. they operate near the heart to disable the spot responsible for the excessive sweating....he will then prespire normally afterwards....
Reply:night sweats can be a sign of being infected with Tuberculosis, especially if he is drenched in sweat, so that he needs to put new pj's on. I would let a doc check him out, just to make sure. If all is well, try light cotton jamies and Egyptian cotton bedding, see if that works!
Reply:lmao funny question. Maybe hes just a smelly man?
Reply:go to your nearest chemist (boots would probably be best) ad u can buy a special deodrant called something like driclor, it basically stops u sweating, u put it on at night n u wont sweat, wash it off in the morning n ur body will allow itself to sweat but not as much! it worked for my ex!
Reply:Buy an aircon unit and wrap yourself up in the quilt so that you don't get cold.
Reply:i get this as well its after eating curries and drinking beer, ask him to cut down on both, and drink water best of luck.

Cold Night Sweats??

Heyy.

I'm really concerned about this problem that I have been having for the last couple of weeks, I'd wake up in the middle of the night drenched with sweat freezing. Has this happened to anyone? what causes this? this is the first time that anything like this has happened to me. I'm not having nightmares or anything. I don't know what causes this. I'm really concerned because I read some stuff online that this can be a sign/symptom of cancer? I'm a 18 years old girl, can anyone help me or tell me more about this? I have a doctors appointment this upcoming wednesday. THANKS so much.
Cold Night Sweats??
It usually happened when one has fever and then after the sweat, th temp becomes normal.

Maybe your room was heated more than your body liked after sleep.

The third is drop in blood pressure.

It just could be a simple cause. Have not heard contrary. My first reaction was see a Doc. that you have planned out.

Till then, do not worry.
Cold Night Sweats??
you are young for most cancers, but it can be symptom of it... it could be hormonal also. perhaps your thyroid. your doc will run tests and you'll go for there. good luck.
Reply:No one here can give you a good answer, Keep your appointment!
Reply:when i went into menopause over night due to surgical removal of my female organs. you may have very low hormone levels and that may cause it.

Night-time troubles??

I have been having trouble breathing at night, especially when I am laying kind of flat. It helps a ton if I put a few pillows under my head. I have also been getting awful night sweats. I wake up in the middle of the night and my pillows and sheets are soaked through! It's a VERY cold sweat. It's like someone dumped a bucket of cold water over my upper body. Any ideas what may be going on? I have to see my Dr. on Wednesday, but this is getting out of control! Last night was the worst night with the sweating ever!
Night-time troubles??
wow. the combo of the sweats and the swollen gland are worrisome. it could be any of a number of ailments.

it is good that you are seeing a doctor. this is something you do not want to trust to a bunch of yahoos on yahoo!answers.
Night-time troubles??
r u male? female? what is your age? etc' BTW-Also drink alot of water since you've been sweating alot of your fluids you do not want to dehydrate.

Do u have high blood pressure? your u over weight? do u smoke?
Reply:http://bbrp.llnl.gov/bbrp/html/y.pseudo....
Reply:are ya wisdom teeth out? Perhaps its Valley Fever?
Reply:To breathe better instead of using pillows, make the head of your bed higher by placing a piece of wood under each leg of the head of the bed. Try different sizes. Too high you will slide down in the bed. It does help with breathing, I know because I have Gerd. Acid reflux. If you are on medication that could be the problem with the sweating, Call your pharmacist about reactions to meds.

What would make a persons sweat smell like urine?

Could they have a food allergy? They are very clean %26amp; only take baby aspirin to thin their blood on a daily basis. They even rinse their clothing twice to get all the soap out. It only happens when they sweat. Hormonal? She is in menopause %26amp; asked me to post this for her. No, she does not have any urinary tract or incontinence problems. Just sweat that smells like urine! What could this be from?
What would make a persons sweat smell like urine?
The Kidneys are overwhelmed with something eaten in the diet or lack of liquid. Too much caffeine or high acid drinks such as soft drinks, tea and coffee or a high spice diet. I suggest more alkaline beverages such as lemon, grape, cranberry and cherry juice. Parsley, celery and leafy vegetables are more alkaline also.

Eat more fish and less meat of other kinds.
What would make a persons sweat smell like urine?
sweat is urine.
Reply:If he has a lot of toxins in his/her body that they don't dispose off regularly, the human body is forced to improvise and excretes its toxins in other places, like instead of using the urinary tract, it uses the pores instead.

Whoever, that person is should drink lots of water and make sure he takes a crap regularly (once a day) and not to hold his urine out.

Or maybe I'm just over analyzing and that person just needs one son of a bitching good bath.
Reply:dont have enough water in the system,

drink alot even if have to pee alot

then you can figure where the main problem is coming from.
Reply:Beer
Reply:Data given is vague....

Ask the person to get a kidney check-up. See/smell their breath if it has the aroma of urine....

I suggest to consult a specialist.
Reply:does she urinate on a regular basis? if she doesn't and holds it in, that may be the problem. i've encountered this on people of all ages and of both sexes. sometimes this is a symptom of kidney problems. if the kidneys don't process the fluids properly then they are sent back into the bloodstream and finally into the capillaries (i hope i spelled that right) which are very close to the sweat glands. other than that, i don't know. i hope i was of some help. oh, tell her to drink at least half a gallon of water a day to keep the kidneys flushed and active. not sodas or juices but water.
Reply:Sweat contains urea, which is also a component of urine. Also, if the body starts to get dehydrated but still needs to sweat to stay cool, it can actually start sweating urine (which is why sweating a lot makes you have to pee less). See if drinking more to prevent dehydration helps to solve the problem.
Reply:Find out what she's eating. Probably she's eating some weird herbal supplements, or an overage of garlic.

Also, if she sweats a lot, then all of the weird stuff will cycle out of her system.

Have her run nonstop for a week and then throw away her workout clothes.
Reply:What is more important than the cause is the remedy and that is liquid chlorophyll which deodorises your interior and reduces the odour of everything that comes out including perspiration.

Please help! underarm wetness problem!?

Ei! guys.. My friend has a problem about his underarm.! His about 16 years old. His underarm keep sweating.. Just sweat!..

He uses anti-perspirant but it's no use.. His underarm keep sweating.. Kindly help him guys.! What should he do?
Please help! underarm wetness problem!?
It is called hyperhidrosis.

Tell im to try a stronger anti-perspirant, such as: Secret Clinical Strength, or Certain Dri.

They are both stronger than regular anti-perspirants.

If they dont work, he should see a doctor who can give him a prescription for a stronger anti-perspirant than you can buy.

Secret's Old slogan was: "Made for a woman, strong enough for a man." I personally use Secret over many of the male brands...I think it works the best.
Please help! underarm wetness problem!?
its probably an overactive sweat gland, try a medicated deodrant, or arrange a visit with a doctor they can give botox injections which helps (I know as my sis eventually had an operation to remove hers)
Reply:keep trying different deodorants if he cant find one that works

ask the doctor about it
Reply:It he uses spray on deodorant maybe that could be the problem. Use bar deodorant, not gel, the white bar deodorant. My advice would be to get Secret bar Deodorant. it's the female brand deodorant but trust me, they work the best.
Reply:Is your friend, you?

Anyway, I wouldn't recommend antiperspirant. Perspiration helps you release the heat from your body and cool yourself.

Perspiration can sometimes make a male more manly and sexy. Now what's wrong with that. It's just like, do you prefer to have your male friend as white as paper or nicely tanned?

If the sweating is making itchy, apply a little of talcum powder, it will be better.

If the sweat smells, use deodorant, not antiperspirant!
Reply:stop the caffeine and the beer it should help
Reply:Hire two bucket holders for him to hold a bucket under each of his arm pits as he goes places.
Reply:try different deodorants.

if this does not help =%26gt; see your doc =%26gt; botox

then: surgery, to remove the swat glands

when he's 16 yrs old, it can be a hormone thing too. he might get over it without surgery/botox.

tell him to see his doc =%26gt; blood test =%26gt; hormones

if he's obece =%26gt; lose weight

good luck
Reply:I suffer from this once in while so If it's causing irritation and causing the skin to become raw the best solution is corn starch applied directly to the skin after a shower. Once you start to heal use a white bar deodorant instead of spray/gel.
Reply:Try the heavy weight antiperspirants: arm %26amp; hammer, right guard sport, mitchum.
Reply:I think he should get some botox injection ( I saw it on a TV once). It will help lessen the underarm wetness problem.

Ladies, If a guy wanted to lick your smelly high heel sandals, would you let him?

Licking a pair of sexy high heels that stink realy bad and are dirty and sweat stained with wear marks and imprints of the sexy toes that have been sweating and sliding around in them is a turn on. I don't care who they belong to or who has been wearing them just as long as they stink realy gross and taste like sweat and toe jam.

Pregnant and having issues sleeping?

I'm 27 weeks ..I know its common to have dfficulties sleeping(which I have been having) But last night was bad not only could I not sleep but I woke up sweating bad (and i dont sweat ..ever!) and I felt so hot like I was on fire. I thought maybe the heater was up to high...it wasnt ..I touched my daughter who was next to me she wast sweating or hot at all...I checked my blood sugar it was normal...I've never felt anything like that ever...ive had hot flashes before but if that was one holy S@#$...any ideas
Pregnant and having issues sleeping?
I know it is very uncomfortable but it is very normal. It is all those hormones from the pregnancy. I was the same way when I was pregnant. All I can suggest is keeping fresh pjs near the bed in case you need to change in the middle of the night!
Pregnant and having issues sleeping?
I would say it is just hormones causing you to wake up in a sweat but you can always ask your doctor.
Reply:I had the same problem pregnant.... don't know what to tell you except open a window... no covers... sleep nearly nude?
Reply:i remember that happening to me try sleeping on the couch once alot of pregnant women including myself sleep on the couch, theres no way to really help it but since the living room is a bigger room normally then the bedroom it wont feel as hot and put a fan on you that helps, good luck and congrats
Reply:I'm am also 27 weeks and I have a horrible time sleeping. Either I can't get comfy or I'm just not tired lol. I stay up until late night and then go to bed and just lay there. Eventually I fall asleep but don't sleep good. Tossing and turning.

I also get hot flashes. Its horrible lol.. So, you are not the only one going through that..hope it helps knowing that. Good luck hun!!
Reply:try telling your doctor sometimes they can give you something even if you are pregnant. also try chamomile tea or special herbs around your house candles relaxing mind medicines. like soothing smells in your house and soaking your feet. have someone else brush your hair make your self laugh out loud for 5 minutes at time it really works this will also tire yourself out and the baby.
Reply:I'm no doctor, but I doubt it was a hot flash. I know it's not uncommon for pregnant women to spike fevers often, though. If you don't have a fever, then you're probably just hot from carrying the baby. Happens to pregnant women all the time. This last pregnancy of mine, I gave everyone in my house a cold from keeping the air conditioner on 24/7! As soon as I had the baby, my body heat just returned to its normal tempurature. Hang in there!
Reply:I had some of the same issues when i was pregnant with my oldest son and it happened three more times after that the problem was my blood pressure but with you it could be something different so check with your doctor because it could be anything
Reply:Its normal in pregnancies to have dificulty sleeping and body tempeture changes. It happens mainly because your hormones are all out of wack. Try sleeping with a fan by you so you can turn it on if you wake up hot. Also try putting a pillow under your back and feet to get more comfortable and hopefully wake up less often. You should also check with your doctor just to make sure its nothing more than just hormones.

Best of luck and wishes to you and your soon to be baby!
Reply:I don't know what you can do for the hot flashes - they're a pretty normal part of pregnancy. But you might want to consider taking some extra calcium before bed, it might help you sleep. Just make sure to ask you doctor or midwife if there is any reason you shouldn't take it.
Reply:Hi, I am 19 weeks pregnant and already have so much trouble sleeping at night. I am usually extremely cold, but I've already started with hot flashes. I've come close to fainting a few times and have even had to go outside to cool off (even in 20 degree weather). It has gotten to the point that when the weather is a little warming I will open the window. (Keep in mind that I am in GA so, it is not so cold here most of the time). Not only does the nice fresh air help keep me cool, but the sounds also help lull me to sleep.
Reply:I'm 27 weeks as well:) I have the same problem! I feel as if I haven't slept in weeks. We have been sleeping with a window A/C in the bedroom...lol, in January. Either I'm boiling, I can't breathe, or the baby decides to do the mamba so I can't sleep! I've moved to the lazy boy in the living room, and it seems to help:) Good luck. You are not alone.....

Girls that sweat?

I am a 20 yrs old female, and for some reason i sweat a lot under the arms, is this something i can go get treated?

thanks
Girls that sweat?
probly not but ask your doctor. and its normal to sweat under your arms a lot whether your fat or not.
Girls that sweat?
yes ! u can get a stronger prescription deodorant from a doctor that can help ! you may also have a problem with your sweat gland....i would def. see a doctor !
Reply:alum....but there are studies that it causes cancer....just buy anti perspirant from the store...
Reply:do talk to you doctor but mean while u can use a good quality talcum powder and avoid clothes that are too tight and clingy.

try to wear lighter fabrics. shower when ever u feel sticky.
Reply:I thnik maybe try switching to another deoderant.
Reply:well put baking soda on the arm pit. Works well.
Reply:Ewww..... Jks no I'm the same way girl.
Reply:I sweat so much it's not even funny...but then i noticed all the girls at my school do. Last week I bought Certain Dri and put it on before i went to bed (it has to soak in so it can relax your sweat glands) and slept in my bra so nothing would touch my underarms. The next morning I sprayed some arrid on it and no sweat!! (Just dont shower in the morning) when I forget about it i use gold bond foot powder b/c it's 5% antiperspirant i think...but it definately doesn't work as well as Certain Dri!!!!!!!

What is wrong with me, ive never had this problem really before?
It was probably just humid, it makes everything feel wet.
Reply:Just so you know, your not the only one who's thigh's sweat. I think it's normal to sweat behind your thigh's. my shin's even sweat. Come to think of it, I sweat from every place possible you can think of.
Reply:i don't think you have any serious problem. i sweat alot on the back of my thighs too. like a couple weeks ago, the cushion on the couch was soaked when i got up (leather seat). so dont' worry too much about it. it's summer. now if it happens in the winter, then you have a problem.

Did Keith Sweat sing with the group GQ?

I heard that Keith Sweat is really Keith Crier from the music group QG. I want to know if It's true.
Did Keith Sweat sing with the group GQ?
I know he sang with lsg but i'm not to sure about gq
Did Keith Sweat sing with the group GQ?
No he didn't. If you do the math, he would have been 15 at the time to be in that group. Although the real names are the same - Keith Crier, it was a different individual who played bass with GQ. Report It

Strange Rash?

For on and off for about a year I have been occasionally getting this strange red rash on my arms that progresses into itchy hives when ever I work out or sweat.

It first came up in December of last year while I was in my P.E. class and lasted for about two weeks coming up only when I was sweating.

It hasn't come up save for a few days ago when I started really sweating after working out. Today it came up while I was swimming and was horrible.

My boyfriend says he thinks its heat rash but I don't know.

Does anyone else have this problem or some answers?
Strange Rash?
my answer is go to a dermatologist...and get a second opinion! i had a skin rash and went to the first doctor...who said it was undiagnosable and that i would have it for THE REST OF MY LIFE. So, i got a second opinion and found out that somehow, i contracted scabies!!! it went away in 3 weeks but i waited 3 months to get a second opinion because i assumed that all of the best doctors know all the right answers...WRONG...don't worry...you'll be fine :)

My hands sweat too much!?

my palms sweat so much. i dont want to hold anyones hand or even shake their hands. ive heard of hyperhidrosis, and those kind of treatments, but they are way to expensive.

im going into the tenth grade if that matters at all.

but are there any household things that will help me?
My hands sweat too much!?
i HAVE the same issue sweaty palms. Nothing just wipe them off before you shake hands. sometimes baby powered works
My hands sweat too much!?
I have the same problem. I heard that there's laser surgery to resolve this issue, but nothing else. I just wipe my hands constantly.

Men and shaving their hair off?

Is it odd for a man to shave his legs? See, I have a friend who is constantly sweating from being nervous all the time, and he says he sweats so much, it all catches on to his hair all over his body. Perspiration overload, basically. Now he's not talking about the head on his hair, but the hair on his legs, armpits, and arms. He's tried overloading himself with baby powder just to keep himself dry, but uh, it didn't work.

So now he want's to shave off his hair on his legs and stuff. He says just his legs. But is it ok for a man to shave their legs and if they do shave, will their hair grow back all the more thicker?
Men and shaving their hair off?
yes it's very normal i WAS on the swim team i have to shave pretty much every thing to make me swim faster , and yes no matter what you shave or where you shave it will grow back and when it grow back it will be thicker than normal
Men and shaving their hair off?
It is okay for a man or a woman to do anything they wish with their bodies, including shaving whatever they want to shave. If he does this however, his legs won't stop sweating and they will now stick to the inside of his pants. I had to get my legs shaved for tattooing and when I perspired, my legs clung to my jeans and it really felt terrible. The hair kinda keeps it from sticking. So anyway, it is fine if he wants to do it, cuz it is his body, but I don't think it will give him the desired outcome.
Reply:C'mon, everyone know it's an ole wives tale that shaving makes hair grow any different than it did before. DNA tells hair follicles what to due, not Norelco. It obviously isn't common for a guy to shave his legs, but if he's not liking it but feels he needs to coz it keeps him 'sweatier', then feel bad for his situation. Btw, there are medications to help with overactive sweat glands...just tell him to ask his family doc, the problem will really lessen. If he takes the meds and they help, and he still wants to shave, he has another problem all together ;-)
Reply:if they wish to shave, men may be ridiculed, so i just recommend using a towel after perspiring and using a deodorizing spray to hide the smell. hair will usually grow back to its old length and thickness when shaved. just remember, when you start shaving, it is a daily thing, and i do not recommend it, as hair is natural and healthy for men.
Reply:There is nothing wrong with it, but it will grow back thicker than it is now.

HELP ME PLEASE!! i NEED ADVICE BADLY!!!?

okay this is going to sound weird but anyways...

i'm 15 and i have this under the arm sweating issue and it's been going on for almost a year...

if i just sit on the couch with my arms down theres always a sweat mark there! i do absolutly nothing and something is always on my shirts! i'm always so embarrased. i've tried like every deotorant and the secret clinical strenght and i went to the doctor and she told me to take cold showers and that didn't work either...

i really need help! if you can give me any advice i'd really appriciate it!
HELP ME PLEASE!! i NEED ADVICE BADLY!!!?
go and see a Dr. If you sweat that much, there are treatments. They can inject botox into your pits and they will slow the sweat production for about six months, and then you do it again. Good Luck!
HELP ME PLEASE!! i NEED ADVICE BADLY!!!?
ummm did you try spray on deorterante?? i would try it. hope this helps
Reply:Try wearing more breathable fabric like cotton. Also, try wearing lighter tops so the sweat won't show as badly. Apart from that, see your doctor again for stronger treatment.
Reply:Use an anti-perspirant and not deodorant. Deodorant only keeps the odor away, the other stops sweat.
Reply:How much water do you drink per day? I mean actual water, not soda, tea, coffee, or juice.

If the answer is not a lot, give it two solid weeks to test this. Drink 8-10 glasses per day of water.

By day 10 or so, you'll be all fixed.

Good luck.
Reply:who da **** is nick jonas ?
Reply:I have the same problem. Im 27 and have had this problem for a long time. The weird part is, it only happens in the winter time when I am cold! I have to wear a shirt under just about any kind of dress shirt I put on. It helps a little lol. I have found that using the same kind of deoderant all the time doesnt help. I have to switch it up a little. No gel kind or anything. Solid. Sometimes applying spray on after the solid deoderant helps too. Your doctor can prescribe something. Its this liquid stuff u apply at night and sleep with it on under your pits. after awhile of using it it helps. But, it burns. Not real good if you have sensitive skin. Ive heard of botox injections helping, but Im not volunteering myself to have some foreign crap injected into my body. Just not my thing ya know? Take extra deoderant with you. Apply it a few times a day. Good luck
Reply:Hyperhidrosis: The Sweating Disease

by Laurie Brown, MS

The sweating disease. That's what we called it, my friends and I. We had to make a joke of it, or my friend would have cried when she sweat through her shirts while sitting in air-conditioned rooms.

Hyperhidrosis is a condition where your body produces more perspiration than is needed to cool the body and maintain appropriate body temperature. For sufferers this means profuse sweating even in cool temperatures and without physical exertion.

How many people suffer from hyperhidrosis?

"I don't think there are any hard statistics on the incidence [of hyperhidrosis]. I would estimate that it is something like 1 per 1000 people or so," says Richard Glogau, MD, a clinical professor of dermatology at the University of California, San Francisco who specializes in treating hyperhidrosis.

Snapshots of Hyperhidrosis

We're at a college football game on a comfortable September day. It is sunny and warm, but not hot. As we cheer for a great pass and an acrobatic reception, I lean over to my friend and whisper, "Um, you're sweating a lot again." I'm trying to help her avoid the embarrassment of anyone else seeing the grapefruit-sized sweat stains on the armpits of her green t-shirt. So she sits quietly with her arms at her sides, afraid to even wave to friends who pass by.

While teaching a workshop at a client site, I notice (as did everyone else in the room) that one of my co-presenters was sweating profusely from the armpits and even on the middle of his back. I returned to the office after the trip to learn that the client was upset that he had been sweating. They felt it was "unprofessional."

The Different Types of Hyperhidrosis

The social and professional problems associated with profuse sweating from the armpits (called axillary hyperhidrosis) are obvious, but it doesn't end there. People with palmar (hands) hyperhidrosis are afraid to shake hands, write on paper, or handle paper products at all. The foot sweat from plantar hyperhidrosis creates a bad odor or smell and may ruin some shoes permanently. Facial sweating is obviously embarrassing as everyone can see the perspiration on your face. Like axillary sweating, perspiration from truncal (torso) hyperhidrosis also can show through clothing.

What Causes Hyperhidrosis?

The answer, in many cases, is unknown. This is called primary hyperhidrosis, because the sweating is not a symptom of some underlying condition. It is also referred to as idiopathic, again because the cause is unknown.

Although, the actual cause of hyperhidrosis is unknown, the mechanism by which the excessive sweating occurs is pretty clear. The sympathetic nervous system (the part of the nervous system that we do not control) sends signals to the sweat glands telling them to produce and eject sweat. Excessive sweating occurs when this system sends signals to produce more sweat than is needed to maintain body temperature. The big question is why?

For some people with hyperhidrosis there are answers. These people actually have another condition that is causing the excessive sweat. Called secondary hyperhidrosis, this can be caused by the following conditions:

hyperthyroidism and other endocrine diseases

obesity

menopause

use of antidepressants

endocrine treatment for prostate cancer or other malignant diseases

central nervous system disorders

severe psychiatric disorders

What about stress? Though stress seems to worsen hyperhidrosis, most physicians don't consider it a cause.

"The nervous system is geared to sweat more [in people with hyperhidrosis], so the sweat response is more sensitive to stress in these people," explains Ib Odderson, MD, of Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington.

Is There a Way to Stop the Waterworks?

Yes, though in many cases the goal of treatment is to manage the disease rather than cure it entirely. Treatments for hyperhidrosis work to varying degrees depending on the type and severity of the condition.

There are no drugs that specifically treat hyperhidrosis. Some sedatives and anticholinergic drugs may reduce the sweating to some degree, but are not used because their side effects (dry mouth and blurred vision) are considered worse than the sweating.

Caffeine is one drug that should be avoided because it belongs to a class of chemicals that stimulate sweating. Though they do not specifically cause hyperhidrosis, caffeine and spicy foods can exacerbate the problem.

Treatments for light to moderate cases

Antiperspirants: Used for armpit sweating, these prescription antiperspirants (ie, Drysol) contain 20%-25% aluminum chloride and 70%-90% alcohol. Drysol is applied 2-3 times per week. An important note for women: You cannot put this on your armpits after you have shaved, because it can cause severe stinging. Drysol also may lose its effectiveness in a matter of a few months.

Iontophoresis or electrophoresis: If the prescription antiperspirants don't work, this procedure can be helpful for periodic hyperhidrosis (as in just before a formal affair). A battery-powered electrical device is used to apply an electrical current to the affected area. This procedure needs to be repeated on a daily or weekly basis, eventually tapering off to every 1-2 weeks.

Treatments for severe cases

For people whose sweating is profuse, dermatologists and neurologists are using the following techniques to help them.

Axillary liposuction: By suctioning out the fat just under the skin of the armpit, the sweat glands of the armpit can be removed. This outpatient surgical procedure takes about 90 minutes and is performed with local anesthesia.

Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy: Using a fiberoptic surgical tube inserted through the neck or the underarm, a surgeon cuts the nerve fiber responsible for transmitting messages to the sweat glands. This procedure is used to relieve sweaty palms, face, and armpits. Unfortunately, the nerve fibers responsible for plantar sweating are only accessible through a major abdominal surgery called lumbar sympathectomy.

The Latest Treatment

Botulinum toxin injection (Botox )

In very small doses, botulinum toxin reduces sweating by blocking the messages that nerves send to sweat glands telling them to produce too much sweat. One treatment keeps most people dry for 4-10 months and has to be repeated. It is also quite expensive, estimated at $350-$400 per session.

A Talk With the Experts

The treatments for severe hyperhidrosis are being studied to determine their efficacy. Here's what experts in the field have to say:

"As a general rule, most people should try the [Botox] injections first, because there are no permanent long-term risks," advises Dr. Glogau of the University of California, San Francisco. "With surgery there are some risks," he adds.

Dr. Glogau has found liposuction to be "quite variable in its outcome." Having treated a number of patients who got only a partial response from liposuction, he reports, "I think that the choice is largely between Botox and sympathectomy."

On the other hand, Harold Brody, MD, clinical associate professor at Emory University School of Medicine calls liposuction "a marvelous procedure" for treating underarm sweating.

Dr. Brody explained which procedures seem to work best for each type of hyperhidrosis:

Underarms (axillary) liposuction or Botox

Hands (palmar) sympathectomy or Botox

Feet (plantar) Botox

Face (facial) Dr. Glogau has had success using Botox to treat facial and scalp sweating.

So, What Should You Do?

If you think that you may have hyperhidrosis, see your doctor. Remember, you are not just someone who sweats a lot. You may sweat a lot when you're exercising, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer through embarrassing sweat all day. There are several therapies that you and your doctor can discuss. And if your doctor doesn't know about this condition, find another doctor, or ask for a referral to a knowledgeable doctor. This is not a simple case of trying a stronger deodorant.

Study Results

Excessive or heavy sweating, called hyperhidrosis, is a medical condition that can be devastating. Excessive sweating effects every moment of every day. And all too often, suffering from hyperhidrosis is a silent struggle鈥?avoiding social situations and trying to disguise the excessive sweating with clothing, powders, and pads.

Sweat glands in patients with hyperhidrosis are no different from those in normal patients, nor is there an increase in the number or size of glands. The condition is caused by hyper-function of the sweat glands.

Why we sweat:

Messages from the brain indicating that the body is too hot

Hormones

Emotions

Physical activity or exercise

In the hyperhidrosis sufferer, sweat glands appear to overreact to stimuli and may also be generally overactive, producing more sweat than is necessary.

Areas of the body typically affected by hyperhidrosis:

鈥alms 鈥ace

鈥nder Arms 鈥eet

Hyperhidrosis appears to run in families, but little else is known about its exact causes.

Treatment Options

Antiperspirants/Deodorants

Often considered the "first line" of treatment for severe underarm sweating, over-the-counter and prescription antiperspirants work by blocking sweat ducts, thereby reducing the amount of perspiration that reaches the skin. The most widely used ingredients in antiperspirants are metallic salts, including aluminum chloride hexahydrate. Antiperspirants can cause skin irritation, and hi

jwe have looket in to botox but that will only stop his under arms but it is his full body that sweats and the bed get all wet and puts a damper on uther thing please help
My partner sweat s alot when he sleeps it minging help?
has he seen a doctor to make sure that this is not related to a medical condition? if he only sweats at night it can be a sign of a more serious problem. get him checked out by a doc and ask the doc for some answers.

See a specialist.

Do u have high blood pressure? your u over weight? do u smoke?

Reply:are ya wisdom teeth out? Perhaps its Valley Fever?
Reply:To breathe better instead of using pillows, make the head of your bed higher by placing a piece of wood under each leg of the head of the bed. Try different sizes. Too high you will slide down in the bed. It does help with breathing, I know because I have Gerd. Acid reflux. If you are on medication that could be the problem with the sweating, Call your pharmacist about reactions to meds.
