Can you sweat easily in dry desert heat?

I have this impression that when its hot and dry in the desert its hard to break out a sweat even if its 100 degrees. is that true?
Can you sweat easily in dry desert heat?
I lived in Az. for 32 years and didn't sweat until I moved to Mississippi.

You know I thought that too! Because it's not really humid at all? But surprisingly you can sweat hardcore with that sun beating down on you.
Reply:When I hitch-hiked across the desert,I wore long-sleeves to hold in the moisture, because the desert will dehyerate you.
Reply:Um, yes. Lots of sweat. Heat is heat, even with not as much humidity. It may evaporate off the skin faster but there is still plenty of sweating happening--even below 100 (I know this because it is 97 outside right now and I came in sweaty from the car).
Reply:You can sweat in dry heat but you do feel more comfortable because the sweat evaporates quicker. I live in Northeast Ohio and we usually have periods of temperatures in the high 90's with high humidity. I have visited Arizona in the summer and felt more comfortable even though the temperatures were nearing 120.
Reply:I certainly do.
Reply:In the summer time it feels like being in an oven when its 120 degrees. Id rather be in AZ in the summer than in Alaska in the winter.
Reply:Yes, but not as much as in the south or Midwest....100 degrees shmundred degrees, that's a fall day here!
