Pregnant and having issues sleeping?

I'm 27 weeks ..I know its common to have dfficulties sleeping(which I have been having) But last night was bad not only could I not sleep but I woke up sweating bad (and i dont sweat ..ever!) and I felt so hot like I was on fire. I thought maybe the heater was up to high...it wasnt ..I touched my daughter who was next to me she wast sweating or hot at all...I checked my blood sugar it was normal...I've never felt anything like that ever...ive had hot flashes before but if that was one holy S@#$...any ideas
Pregnant and having issues sleeping?
I know it is very uncomfortable but it is very normal. It is all those hormones from the pregnancy. I was the same way when I was pregnant. All I can suggest is keeping fresh pjs near the bed in case you need to change in the middle of the night!
Pregnant and having issues sleeping?
I would say it is just hormones causing you to wake up in a sweat but you can always ask your doctor.
Reply:I had the same problem pregnant.... don't know what to tell you except open a window... no covers... sleep nearly nude?
Reply:i remember that happening to me try sleeping on the couch once alot of pregnant women including myself sleep on the couch, theres no way to really help it but since the living room is a bigger room normally then the bedroom it wont feel as hot and put a fan on you that helps, good luck and congrats
Reply:I'm am also 27 weeks and I have a horrible time sleeping. Either I can't get comfy or I'm just not tired lol. I stay up until late night and then go to bed and just lay there. Eventually I fall asleep but don't sleep good. Tossing and turning.

I also get hot flashes. Its horrible lol.. So, you are not the only one going through that..hope it helps knowing that. Good luck hun!!
Reply:try telling your doctor sometimes they can give you something even if you are pregnant. also try chamomile tea or special herbs around your house candles relaxing mind medicines. like soothing smells in your house and soaking your feet. have someone else brush your hair make your self laugh out loud for 5 minutes at time it really works this will also tire yourself out and the baby.
Reply:I'm no doctor, but I doubt it was a hot flash. I know it's not uncommon for pregnant women to spike fevers often, though. If you don't have a fever, then you're probably just hot from carrying the baby. Happens to pregnant women all the time. This last pregnancy of mine, I gave everyone in my house a cold from keeping the air conditioner on 24/7! As soon as I had the baby, my body heat just returned to its normal tempurature. Hang in there!
Reply:I had some of the same issues when i was pregnant with my oldest son and it happened three more times after that the problem was my blood pressure but with you it could be something different so check with your doctor because it could be anything
Reply:Its normal in pregnancies to have dificulty sleeping and body tempeture changes. It happens mainly because your hormones are all out of wack. Try sleeping with a fan by you so you can turn it on if you wake up hot. Also try putting a pillow under your back and feet to get more comfortable and hopefully wake up less often. You should also check with your doctor just to make sure its nothing more than just hormones.

Best of luck and wishes to you and your soon to be baby!
Reply:I don't know what you can do for the hot flashes - they're a pretty normal part of pregnancy. But you might want to consider taking some extra calcium before bed, it might help you sleep. Just make sure to ask you doctor or midwife if there is any reason you shouldn't take it.
Reply:Hi, I am 19 weeks pregnant and already have so much trouble sleeping at night. I am usually extremely cold, but I've already started with hot flashes. I've come close to fainting a few times and have even had to go outside to cool off (even in 20 degree weather). It has gotten to the point that when the weather is a little warming I will open the window. (Keep in mind that I am in GA so, it is not so cold here most of the time). Not only does the nice fresh air help keep me cool, but the sounds also help lull me to sleep.
Reply:I'm 27 weeks as well:) I have the same problem! I feel as if I haven't slept in weeks. We have been sleeping with a window A/C in the bedroom...lol, in January. Either I'm boiling, I can't breathe, or the baby decides to do the mamba so I can't sleep! I've moved to the lazy boy in the living room, and it seems to help:) Good luck. You are not alone.....
