try using febreze on the shirt and throw some fabric softener in with the load to make it smell super good.

Let it soak for awhile in liquid fabric softner.
Reply:fabric softeners can take out colors or change them use a couple of cups of vinegar in the presoak or as the wash or use bakingsoda detergent or a cup of baking soda in the wash with the soap or buy tide liquid
Reply:try spraying it with Febreeze..... that stuff works really good... if febreeze doesnt work then try to find an enzyme odor killer
Reply:Liquid Tide mountain spring fragrance. and then Downy fabric softner mountain fresh scent. Tide is great at getting out all odors.
Reply:Try washing or letting it soak in some OxyClean. I use that all the time, and it takes the nasty smells out of my husbands things. I hope this helps you out.
Reply:After you have washed you sweat shirt, add 1 cup of white vinegar to the rinse, this will eliminate the odor. When you put them in the dryer the vinegar smell will go away also.
Reply:Mix one half cup of baking soda with Gain liquid detergent. Then wash.
Reply:one word Febreeze
Reply:Fabreeze for fabrics will take care of that.
